CRASHER
Well as long as he can be moved to right wing, and actually works out... that's one item off the check list (of course it was the easiest of them major check-off items to be worried about.....) SC Devs Fan
I was hoping we'd bolster the checking line
sundstrom
from what i've heard over at hfboards, he's not entirely terrible. supposedly a very good faceoff man who can actually play PP & PK. does everything ok-pretty well. only thing that is not above average is speed. i could see this signing as an attempt to get the 4th line more time and the third line less time - use them both about 10-12 minutes a game as opposed to 18 for madden and 5 for the 4th line. the guy will make between $450k-$600k if he makes the team. metallidevils
sounds a lot like brylin...at least for a million bucks less.

SatansDevils
Viuhkola is 27 and might just be able to make the Devils line up next season if the Devils do not re-sign some of their players. Hopefully things will work out for him and the Devils here. For now possibly he will be with Lowell.
Chimaira_Devil_#9
Just incase anyone missed it the Thread in Purgatory posted the other day has some awsome videos of him playing in finland. This guy has prommise, his age and he speed seem to be his only real downsides. Like Crasher said if this guy can switch to right wing it will be a cheep solution to mabey adding some extra scoring and increased penalty killing to the 3rd line. msweet
I'm hoping that Lou saw that he blew out his checking line and his goalie this season - got to dial it back a bit on both. This is my battle cry for next year... roll 4 real lines.
thefiestygoat
Here is a thread that I posted about this 4 days ago in Purgatory with the videos and some useful info: http://njdevs.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31400 I can't wait to see this guy in training camp. devils26
This is my battle cry for next year... roll 4 real lines. Agreed. Maybe they will throw Viuhkola on the fourth line to prevent that line from becoming a liable if he can bring his 2 way playing ability over to the NHL. With the fourth line playing more, we must make sure that it is not a liability and a guy like this seems to be a good gamble to do so if he can make the team come training camp.
