msweet
Don't know if anyone did this already, but... On the New Devil's website, they have ordered the players It is not Alpha order so it is suggestive of the numbers.... a few have guessed before correctly and it seems VV=2 Zubrus=16 Rachunek= 23 (guessing since he wore it for NYR) Weekes > 30 ????? Satans Hockey
Actually after looking it up I saw that VV was number 3 with Atlanta, 4 with the Preds and 5 with the Ducks so he probably will end up with #2.

Weekes Head
What number was Weekes in NY? 80. He's had 80 for quite some time now.

elias2600
What will happen with Grant Marshall if he was signed to play on the fourth line? will he take 29 back from Oduya, will oduya take 28? marshall on 28? Clarkson and Tallackson both wore 27. If Tally makes the team, what happens there, I assume Tally would get a different number since clarkson is listed as 27 on the devs website. Also if Rass goes unsigned, then 10 is up for grabs. Numbers available 2 8 10 12 16 21 22 23 28 The order of players on the roster on newjerseydevils.com would indicate that these will be the numbers for players: VV-2 Zubrus-16 Rachunek 21-23 Weekes >30 Edited July 16, 2007 by elias2600
Satans Hockey
you can scratch 13 off that list, that number will never be given out as long as Lou is in charge
Weekes Head
Oduya will keep his number. Marshall probably won't play with the Devils anyway, but if he DOES, he will wear a different number. Tallackson won't make the team either. And if he does by some miracle, he will get a different number as well.
msweet
I think the order of the listing on the site is telling us what will happen VV=2 Zubrus=16 Rachunek= 23 (guessing since he wore it for NYR) Weekes > 30 ?????
elias2600
I agree, I doubt tallackson will make the team. I would rather try pelley or vrana before him. I am still totally unsure whether vrana will make it though either.

elias2600
I hope weekes doesnt get 80. I dont like it when one player on your team has a high number. I also dont really like high numbers period. keep them all 40 and under.

SatansDevils
Zubrus - 21 (Thinks Zubris will get a higher number than 16, plus Weimer is 16 if he is still under contract.) Rachunek - 23 Weekes - 80 (not sure Lou will give him the #80.) Maybe 38. VV - 2 or 28 Edited July 16, 2007 by SatansDevils

SatansDevils
Wiemer is no longer under contract with the Devils, he's UFA.
stevestevens
I hate looking at the Rangers jerseys especially because half the numbers just seem like they were picked to just be random as hell.
olesha
The number from that list that I find the most interesting is that Marty is the oldest guy on the team. Then Matvichuk and Madden. Wow.
stevestevens
and being realistic Madden isnt really that old. Marty is definatly the leader of the team despite not wearing a cd because of rules against it.

Marty is definatly the leader of the team despite not wearing a cd because of rules against it. Actually, in another year or two, the rules will be changed so that goalies are required to wear chest protectors made of discarded CDs. Y'know, because they're smaller than the current pads.
