MTV VJ Sway said during the post-show that he saw Kid Rock walk up to the Motley Crue drummer, who was sitting next to Diddy, and "deck him." The incident was confirmed by Palms Hotel and Casino public relations representative Larry Fink. Both Lee and Kid Rock are ex-husbands of Pamela Anderson, who was a presenter at the show and delivered her lines from atop a table in the audience. Although it wasn't clear whether the two rockers were fighting over something related to Anderson, it was hard to imagine another scenario. Another eyewitness, rap producer Rich Nice, said although Kid Rock threw the only blows that landed _ a backhand slap and a punch _ Tommy Lee was the instigator. "It looked like Tommy Lee initiated it because Kid Rock was ignoring him," said Nice, who was two tables away. "And Tommy Lee kind of antagonized him. And then when Tommy Lee stood up, it looked a little weird, like 'Yo, what?'" "When Tommy stands up is when Kid hit him the first time with a backhand," Nice continued. "And then Tommy Lee looked like he was trying to get at him to aggressively retaliate and then Kid Rock hits Tommy Lee again _ bong. And then security grabs Tommy Lee in a headlock and pulls him off." It's notable that security guards let Kid Rock stay for the rest of the show while Lee was dragged out. The incident inspired plenty of mock rebukes from the hip-hoppers in attendance. "They say it's only rappers," said Sway. "I told you rockers fight too." Diddy noted: "It's not just the hip-hop artists that sometimes have a problem." She hardly danced at all, I thought I was just watching someone walk around the stage with crappy music going on in the background. I'll give her this, she didn't look that bad...then again I was expecting her to look hideous so she really didn't have to do much to look good. I thought Sarah Silverman was really funny, but her jokes seemed to make the live audience tense, so I am not sure if that was the best choice. I thought it was funny when Justin Timberlake kept saying for MTV to play more videos, and he dissed the 3 preppy girls who have one of those stupid shows (ok, maybe I can't talk about stupid shows on MTV as I was on Scarred but still). Those girls looked so pissed at him it was funny. I don't really watch any MTV but that had to have been the worst MTV live event that I have seen. The set up looked cramp and disorganized, the hosting was horrible, and even though I hated most of the bands/acts on the show, they should have let them play on a live stage for a full song, those 30 second clips were horrendous. Where was Criss Angel? I love the guy and thought he was supposed to make some special appearance with Britney, which is why he has been seen with her late at night for a while now. Holy Crap it was bad. The first year they took it out of New York it was alright. But I thought putting it in an arena was a sh!tty idea. But ever since then It's gotten a lot worse. I don't even know wtf was going on tonight, there were none of those impressive performances going on. I can't think of another VMA where each performance wasnt introduced and given a full time slot. But this year they cut it to two hours and cut some of the awards and added new asinine ones like "MONSTER SMASH HIT OF THE DECADALENNIUM OMGBBQ" (ok not really. but close) because their ratings have fallen fro over 10 mil viewers to 5 mil in the past few years. As if this isn't going to hurt more. They need to go back to the 2001 format, and 2001 venue. Plain and simple. And Britney Spears... Christ. I don't even know what to say about that one. The rumor amongst her supporters are that she knew Sarah Silverman was going to make fun of her so she refused to perform good on stage. Which makes no sense. At all. She could have just walked off, and giving a bad performance on National TV to spite MTV makes no sense. Because everyone is just going to think that you suck when its over. Also the rumor MTV had told Silverman not to insult Britney's kids. But judging from the article on MTV.com and the fact Sarah rehearsed backstage before the skit makes it look like MTV didn't really give a sh!t. looks like the jokes on Britney. Granted, if i were Britney, I would want to kick Sarah Silverman's ass. But I just refuse to believe her bad performance was a result of knowing she was going to be made fun of for performing bad... I can't speak for anyone else, but as far as I'm concerned, Britney seemed "out of shape" not in respect to weight but overall physical fitness. She did not appear to be able (or willing) to keep up with her dancers. She looked nothing like a trained professional singer and dancer; rather, she looked like they pulled a random person off the street and said "Hey, you're going to play the part of Britney Spears tonight!" She seemed like she was giving the industry the finger. Her hair weaves sucked i will say that. When she started giggling after screwing up in the begining - that looked a little druggy -- maybe just stupid though. I must say she wasn't out of shape or even chubby -- she was a good solid normal IMO. But then again I am REALLY sick of these "rock hard bods" They aren't really that fun to look at - jiggles and stuff -- stuff happeneing - that's more fun to look at -- not to sound like a dude or anything. It's odd to say dont wear anythign sexy if you're going to looks sexy and human in it -- if you look like an asexual barbie doll well that's fine -- but human? That's inappropriate. What bumms me out isn't her lack of trying but her thinking maybe she's got it in her to try still. she's just so immature and has so little guidance. It sucks for her. It sucks that everyone had such distain for her. I dont see her as begging for these chances to make a come back. I see people asking her to. While I agree she doesn't look like she used to, I do not feel that she looked large or fat or whatever. And while she did seem to not be able to keep up, I dont really feel it was her being out of shape, but rather her not caring. Someone else may have said that also, I just dont think she wanted to give the effort. She was wobbling in the beginning, it just looked like she was not trying. As for the giggle, that seemed to be her visually going along with the song, which I never heard before last night, but there was a giggling noise in the background on the disc or whatever, so i think she just did that to act like she was really giggling , and not playing a cd. If she wanted to have a comeback she would have sang for real, or at least sang over the track.. I really think she just didnt give a crap. Then again, she has had two kids, went through a stint at rehab, and was married to K-Fed, so we should cut her some slack, right? I was just very surprised and shocked at what she put out there last night. She really wasn't ready for this, and this certainly didn't help her career by any stretch.
