Preview: Devils at Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche have used their recent hot play to climb to the top of their division, but one bad game could cost them first place.

The Devils can relate.

Colorado and New Jersey, two streaking teams clinging to the top spots in their respective divisions, meet Saturday in Denver in the last interconference matchup for each this season (3 p.m., MSG Plus, WFAN 660 AM).

The Avalanche (39-27-6) have won eight of their last nine games to take the lead in the Northwest Division, though it's not exactly a comfortable one. Minnesota and Calgary are two points behind, and Vancouver sits just four back, all with a game in hand on Colorado

This is one of the biggest games of the season for the Devils. This is a good measuring stick for the Devils as the Avs look to be for real and they are one of the best teams in the WC. Devils need to be patient and play defense around Brodeur. Devils have done well in the past on Theodore so I do see them doing well and scoring some goals. Suprised to see that Smyth and Stasny are back in the line up and it is a good thing Foote and Forsberg are out of the line up. Devils need to stay ahead in the division and in the EC. Get the two points Devils.

After this game the Devils come home and for the rest of the season besides the Boston game in April it will be 9-huge division games that will tell the tale for this seasons Devils. This one today is big IMO.

LETS GO DEVILS!!!!
