  1. I think people are being caught up in the recent success of all the rookies above him, this class has been a bit amazing! we might need to revisit the "tanking" argument!!!

  2. C'mon, this is a new regime that didn't exactly inherit a whole lot to start with. They had to start by cleaning out some deadwood, then they're going to need some drafts and offseasons to build the team their way. This current front office hasn't even had two years here yet. Lou actually did inherit some decent talent to start with, and it took him several years to build a perennial contender (and the team kind of spun its wheels for a while under his watch before they really took off). Sure, we'd all like it to happen a lot faster, but I can't penalize this front office for mistakes the last front office made. Shero needs time.

  3. This isn't an overnight process. Building a winner takes time. I'm gonna guess you're too young to remember the Devils of the 80's and early 90's, which is why some of you act as if it's your personal birthright that the Devils be great every year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. physicality DOESNT MEAN FIGHTING.. it means putting guys on their butts or faces into the boards.. Ottawa was taking runs at our d-men coming over our own blueline. they were looking for take-out checks... theres something to making the other team uncomfortable and cautious .. we need a few big D men who can lay some wood

  7. You have to look at the bigger picture Good article, nothing groundbreaking but it has some overview thoughts from Hynes/Shero

  8. Well, that 17 road games out of 23 games stretch is finally over. Devils went 8-10-5 over it. As ugly as it's been lately, considering that I would've taken 9-9-5 (or anything giving them a .500 point%), I guess I can't be too upset. But yeah, now they get 20 out of the next 31 at home. The next six games (4 home, 2 away) are still rough (I will happily take 3-3, 2-2-2, whatever), but the Devils are going to have to go on a serious tear over these next 31 overall...I'd say the need to come up with 41 points at the very least (20-10-1, 19-9-3, etc)...that would give the Devils 71 points after 62 games, and would put them on a 94-point pace for a full season. Of course I'll happily take MORE than 41 points, but no way I ask that of this team. They only have two multi-game true "road trips" left this season, so the schedule from here on out is no longer an excuse for anything.

  9. Yeah that one took awhile, a lot of different offers made back and forth till we got down to the deal...

  10. Hell, the only guy who looks physical out there is Taylor Hall. That's been a pleasant surprise, as I didn't really know that was part of his game when he was in Edmonton.
