Seems like a weird thing for Harrold not to report. I can't think of a reason why he'd do that unless he didn't care for spoiling his relationship with the organization and maybe was thinking about going overseas? Seems very strange to me.

Off the top of my head, I can't recall a player taking this long in hockey to report to the minor league affiliate, especially when they need the healthy body. I don't want to speculate negatively though, perhaps he had to attend to some personal matters before reporting (like living situation, family, etc.) In baseball it's not uncommon for a guy to get a few days now and then to wrap up some loose ends before reporting.

You'd think Kowalsky would be aware of it if that were the case though. Usually you let your boss know why you're not showing up for work unless you don't care about keeping that job, lol.

Albany lost to Adirondack 1-0. The Devils almost tied the game on a deflection from Black on a shot by Fraser in the 2nd period but it was ruled his stick was above the crossbar. Replays indicated that his stick was below the crossbar but AHL video review does not cover this, thus no goal. Thompson and Boucher had 6 and 4 shots respectively as the Devils outshot the Flames 28-25. Kinkaid made 24 saves on 25 shots. The Devils went 0/4 on the PP and 4/4 on the PK. Here is the gamesheet and highlights:

Notes:

-- Harrold's demotion was a paper move and he's already back with NJ, with Brunner coming down to Albany.

-- Janssen did not return after a fight in the 1st period with an injury. Timmins got hurt blocking a shot in the 2nd and did not return.

-- Albany's PK is 41/44 during the last 12 games.

-- Kinkaid: 13 GP .923 SV%

Good to see Boucher getting some to go in the net for him. Just need Matteau to get some luck too. It's really going to hurt us to have the few promising forward prospects we have fizzle out in the AHL.

Yikes. that sh% is awful, but hopefully he catches a break and maybe the drop in shots is just him looking too hard for that perfect chance.

Good to see Boucher getting much better luck lately. After 6 points in his first 15 games, he has 9 points over the last 10 games I believe. If he can continue putting up points close to this rate, by the end of the year his poor start will be all but forgotten.

I would love to see a Devils' forward prospect pan out, but I don't think it will be Boucher.  Just not feelin' it with him.
