sundstrom
i remember when we were giving lou the benefit of the doubt on this one. guess we're all done with that.
NJDevs4978
14 shots in 29 games, hell it's not even once every two games
Weekes Head
Who needs Larionov when our boys can go 2-8 on the PP!
Jas0nMacIsaac
This guy is a vetren, He will step his game up when needed. I predict a great playoffs out of him.
Weekes Head
This guy is a vetren, He will step his game up when needed. I predict a great playoffs out of him. I'd like to think the same thing, but he's really been THAT useless this season that I don't know if even the "because he's a veteran he WILL step up when needed" idea will work... sundstrom
gotta be healthy to have an impact. to this point, if igor get's breathed on wrong, he misses two games....but at least he can ride that bike.

NJDevs4978
Even leaving the fact that he's 43 years old out of it - which you can't do AND leaving his TOTAL suckage this year out of it - which you also can't do, I don't know what lends anyone to say Larionov will automatically have a big playoffs. He has 97 points in 149 career playoff games which isn't that great considering he's been on the Wings for much of his career, and the last five years he has 21 points in 44 playoff games. I still think he could work here, but the move has the whiff of Poddubny right now... <JESTER>
StarDew
Sounds like an echo from last season except I hear Larionov instead of Friesen
sundstrom
freisen wasn't hurt and didn't take away from the team effort while adding nothing. he played a solid defensive game and was an offensive threat that just simply didn't put the puck in the net. his speed and skill were somewhat useful, even when he wasn't scoring. larionov has been a liability when he's been in the lineup and has brought absolutely nothing to the table. and he is NOT the type of player that once the playoffs roll around will start scoring goals. at this rate, he will not be part of the devils equation when the playoffs roll around. MissionHockey
Well we don't have to put up with Igor next year atleast.
NJDevs4978
Sounds like an echo from last season except I hear Larionov instead of Friesen WAY different; Friesen was not 43 years old and Friesen at least had played in a similar system in San Jose, it was his head that was in question not his talent. Weekes Head
Sounds like an echo from last season except I hear Larionov instead of Friesen I agree with Has -- it's a completely different situation.
Jerrydevil
Right now Larionov is out of the mix and he hasn't played well, but it's a long season. You never know....we may need him. That first week, he was great on the PP, LOL!
Weekes Head
Larionov looked amazing on the PP in the first week of the season -- he was making great passes, the other players were feeding off of that and doing the same thing. But yeaaaaah....uhh...that didn't last all that long...
Jerrydevil
RD, if SOMEHOW Larionov and the Devils can recapture that, then he'll be worth the signing. So far, no good. But like I said, it's a long season and we may need him. Injuries happen. We're finding that out already.
Weekes Head
Oh, OF COURSE Jerry. I completely agree -- if he can bring that element back to the PP and get everyone going like he did in the first few games, it's definitely a worthy cause.
