Jerzey
If so who gets bought out? I think both Volch and Tallinder get bought out. Too many promising up and comers.
Devil Fan
Salvador and Hedberg.
Jerzey
I think Tallinder and Hedberg is possible but I don't see them buying out Sal. Anything's possible I guess but they just made him captain (even though we all thought it was an odd choice).
Vic Rattlehead18
I hope Kovalchuk
NJDevs4978
Buying out Tallinder would be a waste of an asset. Unfortunately Moose is possible at this point but I'm not sure Lou would do that to him after he wanted multi-years to get his family settled. Sal is possible in 'two' years. NJDevs4978
Yeah buy out Kovalchuk before you actually play him at his natural position.
TheMazz
HAHA I second this. No lets not buy out Tallinder, Salvador or Volch (who I actually like) but let's buy out the guy who scored two goals tonight and has been one of our bright spots this season. Oh boy... Pepperkorn
A new GM.... yeah, that's not short sighted much. So, seriously -- who woudl you like as our new GM? Really, I'd like to know. Everyone who is calling for Lou's head - let's hear who you want to replace him so we can put this all into context. Go - post who -- go gogogogogogogogogo!! Jerzey
It's obvious that when Lou retire his son will take over so I wouldn't expect too much to change when Lou is gone.
Daniel
There's really no need for an amnesty buy out, since the Devils are not going to be a cap team. Plain buyouts of guys kike Hedberg make more sense.
SterioDesign
i'd buy out Volchenkov, he's never been "4.2m good" for us and we'll have to look at that for another few years, i'd rather not

Plain buyouts of guys kike Hedberg make more sense. You get two amnesty buyouts over the next two offseasons, unless 1. Lou buys out 3 players over the next 2 offseasons 2. The Devils become a team near the cap floor Might as well just use the amnesty buyout to clear the cap hit. Especially if it's someone like Volchenkov who would be on the cap for 6 more years after a buy out.

DevsMan84
It's obvious that when Lou retire his son will take over so I wouldn't expect too much to change when Lou is gone. I hope not judging the way Chris has managed the farm teams.
Chuck the Duck
I don't know if you can blame Chris for the failings in Lowell/Albany over the past few seasons. The Devils don't put anything into their minor league clubs, and clearly view them as simply feeders for the NHL team, when necessary. I don't think he has much to work with down there by way of money. Albany has at least been competitive with virtually no offensive talent on that team this season. That being said, there is no way JVB should just hand him the job when Lou retires (which seems like what is being set up to happen). The best candidate should get that job, regardless of who it is or where they are coming from.
Pepperkorn
The defensive coach I always think of this guy - in truth I worry because there have been times when our defensive coach is a hairs breadth from this! http://youtu.be/Wc2o8ywKqos
coldply123
Vanderbeek is going to be the decider and I dont think it is a lock to be an internal candidate.
GoArmySports
I wonder if the organization is financially stable to buy out someone like the A-train.
