Triumph
Could Black potentially project to becoming a John Madden type player? That's the goal, but he has to be a lot better. I'm hoping for a 40 goal 40 assist sort of season out of him. He's so fast that if his game can develop even slightly in other areas he can be an NHL fill-in sort of guy. I don't hold out much hope for him becoming better than that.

nessus
We need a big year from Kujawinski this year. I remember hearing that he was projected to be a late first rounder in last year's draft at one point. Hopefully he can return to that level this season. thefiestygoat
We need a big year from Kujawinski this year. I remember hearing that he was projected to be a late first rounder in last year's draft at one point. Hopefully he can return to that level this season. I agree, a breakout year from him would be awesome since the Devils talent pool at forward is lacking. He's certainly going to get a chance to do well since Kingston is a good team and he has some talent around him with LW Sam Bennett, D Roland McKeown, and LW Spencer Watson who are all projected to go in the upper 1st round right now of the 2014 draft. I don't believe he's been playing with them much but opponents will have to prepare for all of them which could open up some opportunities for Kujawinski. Daniel
If Santini can and an offensive element to his game whilst continuing to shut people down he will be one hell of a player. For whatever reason, he strikes me as a future captain. Evidently in the underage tournament back in the summer he performed very well, despite getting undressed by Connor McDavid on one play. Coleman against Fighting Sioux? pretty decent I'm really pulling for Coleman. I know he was drafted as an overager out of the USHL but I like his size and skill set. Maybe he doesn't stay at C long term but from what I've seen on tv a few times, he seems decent defensively, loves to play physical, and finds ways to get the puck on the net. At the very least I think he can be a solid AHL player and at the best I think he can be a solid 3rd line option at the NHL level. Rodwell never really put it together for North Dakota so I'm not surprised to see him getting healthy scratched his senior year. Still disappointing though. Colorado Rockies 1976
Friday 10/18 QMJHL Gatineau defeated Drummondville 4-3 Anthony Brodeur G: 6 Saves on 9 Shots, Pulled after 5:40 His save% is down to .868 now...the other goalie, 20-year-old Robert Steeves (he'll be 21 in January), appears to have grabbed the starting job for the moment. He came in and shut down Drummondville after Anthony got pulled, then gave up just one goal in Saturday's contest. He did give up four goals on 28 shots in his last game, but has only given up 10 goals in his last 6 games to go with a .934 save% (the relief appearance was almost like a full game in itself, at 54:20 of TOI), and the team is 5-1 in those 6 games. Still early of course, and I think Anthony was probably expected to be more of a backup at this point anyway (he's 2.5 years younger than Steeves), but I'm guessing whatever chance he had to make it a relatively equal playing time split is probably over. Triumph
Thanks for the heads up fiesty - I caught most of the game, Santini is awfully physical. Made a bad read on Minnesota's first goal but otherwise was pretty good. He skates well and he's definitely looking to punish the opposition.
