Just like, though the Devils got he rejection letter on the evening of Tuesday, July 20, the count of five days for the NHLPA to file the grievance didn’t start until 5 p.m. the next day. (Because they got the letter after 5 p.m. on July 20)

I think it's good that Mac knows the group, knows the youngsters. He knows the little things that irked players under Sutter. AND it's nice that Mac is relatively young at 45. He has a grasp for what the players need to know. And Mac is hungry for success. Larry Robinson to run the defense is great too. - Bottom line is that the group of candidates wasn't mighty impressive.. Sure Haviland may be an up and comer but so might Johnny Mac. I agree Lou wouldn't want to be up there in the rafters. We'll someday see how that plays out. He deserves full positive recognition, whatever form he accepts. As for retired #'s to be: Marty, Patty and Scotty Neids for sure I think will be up there like many NJD fans have said. I would like to see Brylin's 18 go up. The NJD 3 Cup club is very exclusive. Give Sarge his due! ---

I'm just glad to know via Gulitti that Lou is in talks with Kovy and his Agent. I figured we wouldn't have heard till the end of June whether or not Lou and Kovy have spoken. IMO ownership is more involved since the move to Newark. They see a superstar in Kovy, they see more people coming to games. I think they will push Lou to make good respectable offers @ Kovy. If he doesn't stay I feel it will be more by choice of city to play in; then by $$$/years. I don't see the Devils getting grossly outbid if this gets past 7/1/10.
