Devs3cups
DENVER -- Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy is the new head coach and vice president of hockey operations of the Colorado Avalanche. "This is an unbelievable day for me," said Roy. "It's a new and exciting challenge that I am really looking forward to. I would like to thank Stan and Josh Kroenke for this opportunity as well as Joe Sakic for the trust they are putting in me. Almost 10 years to the day that I announced my retirement as a player I am back in Denver and hope the fans are as excited as I am." Great News for the Colorado Avalanche. He was a great coach in the Q, I wish him the best in the big league! http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=423850 Edited May 23, 2013 by Devs3cups
Muevelos
Two legends for Colorado will help them dearly. And look for Dallas to make a splash going for AV. West is already better and might keep even better again Edited May 23, 2013 by CarterforPresident
thefiestygoat
How long till he gets fined by the NHL? Dude was fined about 4 times in the QMJHL over the years for criticizing game officials and league officials and of course he had that 5 game suspension after that huge brawl in 2008. DevilMinder
Great, that means Brodeur will be our Coach after Stevens has a try too.

DH26
Two legends for Colorado will help them dearly. And look for Dallas to make a splash going for AV. West is already better and might keep even better again Roy is probably an upgrade but Sakic/Roy as GM is just asking for Nieuwendyk/Hull levels of failure. It'll be harder to screw up in CO if Jones is good and they keep ROR to go w/ Duchene, Landeskog and such and Roy doesn't mentally destroy Varlamov but there's still no guarantee
Pepperkorn
Great, that means Brodeur will be our Coach after Stevens has a try too. You mean When Stevens is GM gad I sort of hope not. Unless I see into the future and success is guaranteed for decades.

mouse
I wonder how he does. He seems a bit abrasive, in the Torts mold, and I don't see that working with a young NHL team, despite his success in juniors.
