I just can't help but be excited about Blandisi. I really hope he continues to play like this in Albany next year. Still slightly hopeful he makes NJ.Can't be any worse than most of what we have now but I guess it would be smart to let him get used to the speed and power of the AHL for a little while. Maybe he gets called up 20 games in or whenever we have an injury.

The name that sticks out to me among those UDFA F's is Cody Wydo since he was at the 2013 Devils Prospect Camp. 5'10, 175 lbs who will turn 24 in a week. Just under a point per game for his NCAA career. Not sure if he has much NHL potential, seems more like an AHLer but maybe the Devils have kept track of him? All of these guys are left shots though. Garbowsky will be 25 next year and hasn't exactly lit the league up. Kero turns 23 in July and is a teammate of Pietila's. His numbers don't really pop out at me though.

Some of the UDFA F's that interest me are Casey Bailey, Austin Czarnik, and Sam Anas. Bailey's pretty sought after by a lot of teams, Czarnik was last year, and Anas will probably go back for his junior year.

Blake Coleman in his last two years:

66 games, 39 goals, 67 points, 237 shots

This kid could be a 25 goal player in the NHL. I doubt many players scored more in college over that time.

Just for comparison Sislo had 29 goals in 78 games.

The issue - such as it is - with Coleman is that he's already 23 and he'll turn 24 in November.  Now of course it's very difficult to predict how college players will do - I think there's a good chance he's an NHLer of some sort, but I think a 25 goal upside is very unlikely.

Yea I was thinking I should have put 20 goals, from the 3rd line 25 is unlikely.

Fiesty what is your take on Kujawinskis recent emergence and what do you think his ceiling is?

Kujawinski is one of the prospects I've never really had the chance to see much, so I don't have a real strong opinion on him. His basic numbers this year are a little bit underwhelming (0.97 Pts/GP) but he did produce just over that rate once he got traded into a better situation with North Bay. His numbers would probably look more appealing had he been there all year. Before the season I was hoping he'd finish comfortably above the 1.00 Pts/GP mark and improve a bit more on last year's 0.91 rate.

Enough about the numbers. I do like that he has a solid frame (6'2, 207 lbs.) which should help him adjust to the pro level. Back in 2013 Hockey Prospect ranked him 60th overall and they praised his offensive potential but cited his lack of consistency as being worrisome. When he's on his game they wrote that he had "very strong and creative passing ability", "has quick hands and an effective shot", and "engages well along the boards and wins more than his share of battles."

One thing that seems common about him is that his OHL career has been underwhelming and his stock has fallen. He was taken 4th overall by Sarnia in his OHL draft year and was named the top most impressive 1995 born player in the OHL by OHLProspects in April of 2012:

As mentioned, I could have probably flipped a coin here between Domi and Kujawinski. Both impressed the hell out of me this year. In the end I gave the nod to Kujawinski for his dominance in all areas of the ice. I saw him play a few games at the beginning of the season with Sarnia, and I truthfully never even noticed him on the ice. But once the trade to Kingston happened, he obviously became a different animal. In Kingston I saw a big centerman who had the speed and skill to burn opposing defenses. I saw a guy working hard at both ends of the ice. I saw a physically aggressive player who was punishing the opposition in loose puck battles. I saw a guy with the capability to win big faceoffs. Needless to say, Kujawinski is the total package. One guy immediately jumped to mind the more I watched him, and that's Anaheim center Ryan Getzlaf (even if he's not having the best of years in the NHL).

There was even praise from Buzzing the Net (Yahoo's CHL blog) back in March of 2012 about how he could be the face of the franchise for Kingston:

"He's an unbelievable skater, he's a big man, he's at least 6-1, 190 pounds at 16 years of age, he gets around the ice very, very well, he's a great passer and has a bomb of a shot," is how Gill describes Kujawinski. "He has it all. When he matures into that body, he's going to be a scary individual to watch on the ice. I see him as a future star, not only in this league, but in the NHL.

For whatever reasons, he seems to have not lived up to expectations, but is still a quality prospect. Maybe the hope is that he becomes a 2nd/3rd liner in the NHL though given his consistency issues that could be far from a sure thing. I do think he's done well enough to get signed this spring and be a regular for Albany next year.
