Rumor: rachunek for michael-liles

I'm dumbfounded by this one. Is Liles UFA, or does he have some kind of horrible cap-clogger of a contract that would justify moving him for a UFA who'll probably up and move to Europe when the season ends?

EDIT: Found it myself. UFA with exactly same cap hit as Rachunek.

Too bad it's Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate), because I would love for this trade to happen.

hockeybuzz.com rumors karel rachunek to go to colorado for john michael-liles.. doubt this would happen..seems like a go nowhere tradefor either teams..but if liles could stay healthy it could benefit us

Too bad this will only be a RUMOR. :doh1:

I wish Lou would pull that trigger right now and deal Rachunek for John Michael Liles.

Just not going to happen. There has to be another player or a pick for that trade to go down.

He was a healthy scratch to showcase Greene and Brookbank in potential trade.

Oh, if a player is playing so great, why the team takes him out of the line-up in order to showcase other players' skills??? You'll never see Lidstrom or Pronger or Niedermayer being scratched for the others??? The reason is because those players are great players and Rachunek, I agree that he has his skills, but lately his defensive game is a huge question mark and that is why he is not in the line up.

So by this defintion of players bring scratched, any time a player is scratched it's because they're worse than the player being put in for them? Imagine the players Carolina was fielding last game to take Erik Cole's spot in the lineup, I had no idea how good that team actually was.

Highly doubt it was a showcase for Greene and Brookbank. Vishnevski and Rachunek have not been playing very well in the last couple of games and Sutter decided it was time for a change and it worked. Greene and Brookbank deserve to be in the line up right now. It would be a bad move by Sutter if he didn't play Greene and Brookbank tomorrow night vs. the Sharks. If anything possibly Brookbank might be in a trade but no way will Greene will be in a trade.
