njdss4
From the official recap of tonight's game on NHL.com: Jagr skated to the faceoff circle, spun and fired a shot. As White came out from behind the net, he nudged Brodeur and it knocked the goalie slightly off the goalpost.Jagr's shot hit Brodeur in the back and went into the goal. LuZZo39
What does Marty say about White in his book specifically?
Devils79
One-Eyed Willie has pissed me off most of the year. Maybe it's just me but he always seems to do something completely stupid at key points in every game.
Beck27
White was actually having a monster of a game up until that point. Kind of amazing the Devils have lost both games on bone head plays.
theamazingtiny
You could see Marty curse after that first goal. He was perfect til White came in with the assist. NJDevs4978
All Marty said about White was that he hit him in the head accidentally with a shot in warmups before Game 6. He did not criticize Colin at least in that context.

Triumph
Colin White has battled back from an eye injury and has been the Devils' top defensive dman ever since #4 hung it up. He's not great, but he's very good.
jkrdevil
My question is why two players (White and Madden) were chasing Jagr behind the net on the play? That sort of created the jam up and let Jagr get free where he could get the shot off. As for White he was the Devils best defensemen until he got that brutal eye injury in camp. You can point to his injuries in the last two playoffs as a reason why the Devils got knocked out in the 2nd round the last two years. Triumph
some of you people should be sentenced to be panthers fans for the next ten years. honestly. colin white is a top 4 defender on every non-ducks team in the league, and he does a solid job against guys like jagr. stevestevens
Colin White has been just fine. His mistake wasnt something stupid, it was something that just happened. If you trade people from one mistake we wont even have a team. Chill out, hes done well.
njdss4
Who are you guys watching? I feel like we're watching two different players. Also, I'm not just bitching now because the Devils are in an 0-2 hole against NYR, this is something I've seen his whole career.

jkrdevil
Are you serious? Last year it was clearly Raflaski, and before that it was obviously Stevens. White has always been the #2 or #3 D-man at most, and he seems to be having a lot of trouble being thrown into the #1 roll this year. metallidevils
considering the amount of time it took marty to get back into position, it didn't really seem like he planned on hugging the post to begin with. yes, white interfered with him, but he seemed content with where he was, and it's an angle that hes gotten beaten on way too many times on the past. white's not the scapegoat here, neither is marty. yort44
It's so funny that we're blaming our defense for letting in 1 goal. Let's put the blame where it belongs--our inability to score goals. I think any team in the league would be thrilled to be giving up 1 or 2 goals a game and taking a shutout into the 3rd period.... TWICE. Score goals and watch how much better our defense looks.. Watching it live I thought it was Marty trying to hedge his bets defending against the guy on the post expecting a pass instead of a shot. I think Marty is pressing and putting too much pressure on himself right now which leads to him not playing within himself and trying to do too much like the weird goal in game 1 and this goal last night.
