Well im flipping through iO, usually i watch just the HD channels but i stumble upon channel 429, labeled "NHL Network" and the Pens/Sens game is on...

I dont recall ever 'purchasing' the NHLN, are they having some free trial for cablevision or something? Or does it just come with iO, like Versus did..?

Those channels aren't on for me and I have IO and Cablevision, but a lot of times Cablevision screws me out of the free previews for whatever reason :P

I did get the NHL Network for a couple weeks or so last year, and the CI preview goes from the 9th to the 15th.

Hopefully they have added it to the network for you guys. I know in Canada it was a free preview during the pre-season for the first tow or three seasons.

I ordered the Comcast Sports Tier just to get the NHL Network like 5 minutes before reading this thread, so I have no idea if it was offered for free. Lame. Oh well, $5 per month for the NHL Network, NFL Network, and a bunch of other sports channels ain't a bad deal. I'm pretty pumped to watch the show on the 1995 Devils vs. Flyers at 9 p.m. tonight.

NHL Network announces 2008-09 NHL broadcast schedule in U.S.

With more live game coverage than ever before, NHL Network today unveiled its U.S. broadcast schedule for the 2008-09 regular season. It includes 75 regular-season games, all in HD. (I didn't get an HD feed on the games this past weekend. Maybe my cable system, Cablevision, doesn't carry the HD version of NHL Network. But still, with 75 games this season, I ain't complaining!)

Highlighting the schedule is the inclusion of CBC's award-winning Hockey Night In Canada, now available to U.S. fans through NHL Network for the first time. Every Saturday night, NHL Network will not only broadcast the live Hockey Night In Canada double-header, but also the CBC pre-game show Scotiabank Hockey Tonight and post-game show After Hours.

I got NHL Network free when I ordered Center Ice last year. When CI ended, so did NHL Network. I gladly paid the 2.95 a month for it. Helped me get through the summer.

NHL Network is the greatest thing that has ever happened anywhere to anyone in the history of all of mankind and dinosaur time before that.

I have Cablevision/IO TV as well and I checked the website and it says its $5.95 a month for NHL Network and comes in some kind of IO Sports Pak. Yes Pak not Pack, so maybe its more than just the NHL Network it comes with, as some of you are stating Time Warner has it for $2.95 a month. Im going to call today and find out.

I really dont know.. I do know they had a free NHL-Center Ice trial this time last year, on the internet..

But NHL CI and NHLN are 2 different things

NHL Network is AMAZING. I lived on that channel last season... hockey 24/7?!!!

BTW, if you're a Cablevision customer, it's free w/ the purchase of Center Ice.
