sheeps
Blew a nine point lead! Oh well. 2 more wins than 2002. Can they get 2 more wins than 2003 in 2004 and finally get a Finals win? Who knows. I know one thing: WE GOTTA STOP BLOWING HUGE LEADS!
sammyk
They probably won't even have Kidd anymore.
devilsrule33
Well will Kidd want to stay. The Nets have to show Kidd that they want to make the team better. Maybe thta means getting a better shooting guard or a bigger center. We need Kidd.
Nieuwy25
Interesting little side-note about Kidd. There's a poll running in the dallasnews.com site for which former D/FW athlete we'd most like to have back. The choices are Jason, Joe, Pudge, or Emmitt. Pudge is running away with about 40% of the vote. The other 3 are all just under 20%. Congrats to the Spurs! David Robinson is going out on top, just like Daneyko. Zamode
Too bad for the Nets, even though I hate BB. Will be lost if Kidd walks...
GetReal
Congrats to the Nets. While they lost a second time they were better than the first run. If the Nets can find a way to get a couple of more guys to support Kidd and of course convince Kidd to stay with Martin and Jefferson they just might win it all next trip. It's tough against two 7 footers and an outstanding defensive team like the Spurs or the power of last years Lakers. Good effort. I hope the Nets can keep Kidd, he is going to test the free agency market and he can't be blamed for thinking about himself, his family and his personal family finances. Congrats again to the Nets tream, the future is up to management now. They losze Kidd IMO I think the Nets go backwards and maybe to Long Island. LizDevil30
Congrats to the Nets for a great year. I hoped they'd win it all, there's always next year. I have to say the basketball trophy is lame. The Stanley Cup is by far the most beautiful trophy in all of sports.
sammyk
Why don't they give that trophy a name already? Sounds so generic. Speaking of names, what is the baseball trophy called? Just World Series Trophy? I guess that's still better than something like MLB Championship Trophy.
NewarkDevil5
I think with the World Series there is no trophy. Just a pennant. Thats all they ever talk about: winning the pennant. A thicker than usual piece of paper in the shape of a triangle. I don't think Kidd'll leave. Who'll he go to? San Antonio is gonna be just fine with sticking with Parker and any other contending team out west is over cap or close to it already. He wouldn't leave the Nets without a sign and trade; he's already said that. They would get something back for him even if he left.
LizDevil30
The World Series trophy has flags all around it. I don't know if it has a name. The basketball trophy is named for some guy, I heard them say it on the news, I don't remember what it was though. And the Super Bowl one is Lombardi? But they make a new one every year. The Stanley Cup is the best!
brylin18
it was a total choke job. how could you let the spurs go on a 19-0 run in the fourth quarter? they choked this game away.
Triumph
Yep brylin, I was sick watching this team blow a lead.. I know damn well the Spurs are the better team in this matchup, but they were not playing like it and the Nets were playing great basketball. But a 19-0 run in the Finals is inexcusable. David Puddy
It's the Larry O'Brien Trophy since 1984. Before that it was the Walter A. Brown Trophy.
David Puddy
And the baseball trophy is called the Commissioner's Trophy. (I found a great site with info about famous trophies.)
David Puddy
And I've got to say, as much as I love the Stanley Cup, the Borg-Warner trophy is probably the coolest looking trophy around with the checkerboard of faces.
MantaRay
Is that series over?

LetsGoDevils
*sigh* Would've been nice for both the Devils/Nets to win.
LizDevil30
Thanks for the link to the trophies DP. I still like the Stanley Cup the best. Funny how out of all the cup trophies only the Stanley Cup is a cup.
