Don
So where has Iginla gone? I'm getting that 2001 feeling a bit now.... you're team down by two goals... playing like sh!t... no chance of coming back.... having been up 3-2 in the series and now it's all over but the crying.... Ah well, CFL starts in two weeks.
devilsrule33
Damn this sucks. The only good thing I can think of is if Tampoa wins they at least win at home which is cool but I want Calgary to win so bad. Anyways...how about Bob Cole's call on the second goal. That was priceless. A classic.
Don
4) We do not have to be drowned in the "Iginla is the next big thing" media hype. Instead you get "Brad Richards is a God.". Now that it is painfully obvious that Calgary is toastier than O, CBC no longer takes us to the Saddledome, but rather to a large (gymnasium?) in PEI where they are all screamin' and yellin' and happy.... CBC has all the angles covered. Canada wins no matter which team takes the cup.
BlueSkirt
I too was pulling for the Flames, but my eyes tell me it ain't happening. no more flamesgirls Quick, somebody trademark "Safe is Death"
NJayDevil
Devils run last year is very similiar to the Bolts run this year: Top 2 in the Conference, hence, easier opponents in the 1st 2 rounds. Devils squash the Bruins in 5 games in the 1st round Bolts squash the Isles in 5 games in the 1st round Devils beat the Bolts in 5 games in the 2nd round Bolts manhandle the Habs in 4 games in the 2nd round Then they both go to the Conference Finals with noone expecting them to win (experts wise). Devils beat the Sens in 7 games Bolts beat the Flyers in 7 games Then they both go to the Finals, facing upstart teams Devils beat the Ducks in 7 games, At Home. Bolts on their merry way to beating the Flames in 7 games, At Home. Almost the EXACT games played, only a difference of 1, and just similiar run. Ups and Downs in the final 2 rounds until they finally just pull together in Game 7 at home and just kick some ass. Hell even after 2 periods, the score has been the same. Hell even 1 player from the Devils and the Bolts have scored 2 goals in Game 7, it would have been even scarier if they scored the same goals, like Friesen scored goals 2 and 3 and Ruslan scored goals 1 and 2. Devils gave the Ducks NOTHING in Game 7, were very well positioned, same for the Bolts. Flames haven't really come close at all, except like 1 shot, just nothing. It's all very odd. ABC just took us to the Saddledome. Probably because they can't find Prince Edward Island on a map. CBC has all the angles covered. Canada wins no matter which team takes the cup. At least someone's got it right.
BlueSkirt
NJ, wasn't our game 7 scoreless after one. Then 1-0 after 2, with Friesen scoring early in the third ?

devilsrule33
Calgary is not out of it yet. They need to score a goal in the first 10 minutes. Iginla and Conroy must step it up. Actually check that, someone has to show up.
BlueSkirt
DR33, 'tis true it is possible, but I'm not sure if Tampa will be like the '61 Blackhawks who were up 2-0 at home and them let in a softie near the end of the 2nd period before the Habs won it all in the 3rd. '7'
terrible hockey game, fitting way to end a dark era of the NHL. hopefully Calgary can score at least once to make it interesting.

Ice Man
You have to give TB credit for the way they are playing game 7. They are adding confusion to the Flames and pressuring them. This has me feeling I am watching game 7 of 2001, game 6 was same.

Dale Hunter now becomes the answer to the trivia question. The other good thing about Tampa winning the Cup is..... well.... I can't think of anything.... NJDevs4978
1) The Devs are no longer the last team that lost after having a 3-2 lead. No longer will we be mentioned in articles about future Game 7's. The next ten years teams could blow a 3-2 lead in the Final and we'd still be mentioned. Any excuse to talk about Bourque after all, hell they're still talking about him ad nauseum THREE YEARS LATER when other teams are in the Finals
