LizDevil30
LETS GO DEVILS! If Marty and Neids don't win, it'll be a travesty. Madden isn't worthy this year.

And like RD said, that has nothing to do with the Selke. But why is that a b.s. award? All awards are B.S. awards, pretty much, since next to the Cup all others are pretty hollow. But if you work hard all year for your team, it's nice for a guy to get recognized.

It would be nice if the right guys always won and nominated for these things. But that's certainly never the case in any given year. That's the disappointing aspect of it. I agree that it's good to reward the best players for their hard work.

But that's certainly never the case in any given year. That's the disappointing aspect of it. I agree that it's good to reward the best players for their hard work. I def. understand the point, but I'm not that dismayed by the process. It's like an Oscar award. Is a movie really the best because voters say it is? No, not really, it's just the recognized one. It's a popularity contest on some level. Our guys are on the up side lately, that's kinda cool when the Devils seem to always face image problems. Guys play a long season, they work pretty hard under some seriously adverse conditions, they come back five minutes later with an injury that would sideline a baseball player for three to four weeks. And we see omissions, but we don't really see guys who had a crap year nominated. It's not all-star voting, haha. Although if Marty won the Hart, while I would be stupendously happy at it being one of us, I would think it wrong... even as a Devils fan. But sometimes they even get it... dare we say it... RIGHT! FunkyBlueFish203
It's already been announced that Bryan Berard has won the Masterton Trophy. Edit: Midgy with the Pearson trophy, heh. If Midgy wins the Hart, he will be the 1st player since Gretzky to win the Hart, Pearson and Art Ross in the same year. He's also the 1st player from the NCAA to win the Art Ross. And again Jason makes an ass of himself.... got more Stubbs in him than he would like to admit. *reminded of Germans/Pearl Harbour* We shoulda had polls for these.... who WE think should have won the award. Even biased as we are, I don't think Madden would have won.
FunkyBlueFish203
Heard they're airing as scheduled on CBC. Some stuff about Iginla and Midgy is on and folks are just filling into their seats, so we won't miss much, if we miss any at all.
