Z-Man
So here is our next lineup...3 forward lines and 4 d-pairings! Woo-hoo! Parise-Elias-Gionta Zubrus-Zajac-Langenbrunner Pandoflo-Madden-Brylin Extra forward - Asham White-Rachunek VV-Martin Greene-Brookbank Salvador-Oduya
harpua19
Good luck to Cam...Hopefully he gets that playing time...lets also hope this guy can do something for us
devils26
Cam offered nothing to this team besides sitting on the IR because he didn't have a roster spot. Rupp and Asham both can easily fill Cam's role, and add a bit of a scoring touch. We might as well get something for Cam, although the acquisition of Salvador seems to be a bit pointless. The only help I can see this trade offering is to Lowell, who might get one of our mediogre D-men to help them out, as I can't see how another okay D-man will help out the big squad. Jas0nMacIsaac
Salvadore is instantly eating 20 minutes a game. Jackman and Brewer were the only two defensmen averaging more ice time then him in St Louis and while he may have played softer minutes this guy is a rock on the blueline. I think he is a more physical version of Lukowich.
RunninWithTheDevil
I got the text this afternoon on my phone and just said to myself that this is the most pointless trade in Devils history.

He is no worse with the puck then Lukowich. He is certainly steadier on the back end then Vishnevski also. He is an upgrade to what we have now. He is an upgrade to what we have now. Disagree. Given that players at the deadline don't often just fit right in with their team, it's pretty likely he will be worse than vishnevski or at best equal to him. Oh well. Maybe so..I think he will easily fit into our defense skeme.
BlueSkirt
Disagree. Given that players at the deadline don't often just fit right in with their team,Oh well. He's a stay-at-home D, he'll be next to our net all night. I hope he works well rotating as a #6/7 this year.
halfsharkalligatorhalfman
He will get at least 20 games to fit in, if he doesn't make it work we have enough bodies to figure something out. STL fans seem to think the guy is great, so I'm anxious to see him play. If he's a Sutter guy too, then he could prove to be a very nice pick up. DevilNurn
Ooh didn't even notice: Bryce Salvador lead St. Louis with a +12 rating. Has notched a plus-or-even rating in 40 of his 56 games. Has blocked at least one shot in 47 of his 56 games. Doesn't mean he's great, but that doesn't make him horrible. My biggest question is what jersey number he will wear. Edited February 26, 2008 by DevilNurn

SatansDevils
Salvador most likely will pair up with Colin White. Brookbank and Greene still in the line up. Rachunek and VV still scratched.
DevilNurn
Perhaps 25? Possibly, but he wore 27, and Mottau has no connection to 27 except it was assigned to him, so he could wear 25 now. Whatever.
Triumph
21, 24, or 25 is pretty much all that's left.
SatansDevils
I would say Salvador will wear #25.
nmigliore
Im sure Mottau will stay the way he is at #27.. Closest number available to 27 (Salvador's old number) is 25.
HellOnICE
I know we've been winning, but I'd rather see White-Martin, Salvador-Oduya (or a variation) as the top two. White and Mottau have tough times breaking out and it's hindering the Gionta line.
nmigliore
Hope Salvador actually plays.. Vish has had many chances but still has struggled.. Salvador can easily replace him, and he has the excuse of being on a crappier team

We keep going after bums. I do trust in Lou ultimately but I hate to not have any big names to gloat over.
Triumph
what was wrong with Matvichuk? We keep going after bums. He's a -17 in 41 games in Lowell. He's played what, 12 games at the pro level over the last 2 years? He's tenth on the depth chart.
Verran12
I hope he will at least fight and have a physical presence. Hate this trade though. We are an extremely soft team now. NYR only got stronger with Josh Gratton and Philadelphia got stronger with Boulerice back.
stevestevens
Yeah but im not sure where Gratton fits into the Rangers lineup.
