Devil Fan
There are some possible candidates: bob Hartley, Robinson, Hitchcock, Keenan
Daniel
MacLean is the head coach for awhile He may or may not be part of the problem, but I don't know how you anyone can say that. We are worse right now than the Islanders were when they were in the lowest point of the Milbury era. There are no close games. We're consistently losing by 3 or 4 goals. There is nothing anyone can point to that says this will turn around. I don't have a specific name, but what we need is a boring retread yet reliable coach to at least stabilize things. I didn't want to touch them with a five foot pole in the offseason, but maybe it's Ken Hitchcock, or maybe it's Therrien. So far as I'm concerned, find ANYONE who has at least some track record of success as a head coach.
Jerrydevil
There are some possible candidates: bob Hartley, Robinson, Hitchcock, Keenan Don't you think it can only be Lou? This is his mess, he has to clean it up. I don't think Vanderbeek should allow Lou to hire anyone else this season.
SatansDevils
If this Devils team continues to lose and stay at the bottom of the division and in the EC, MacLean's days are numbered as Lou will most likely pull the trigger before the entire season is lost. As for next coach it could very well be Ken Hitchcock. This team is playing very bad defense infront of Brodeur and there is no discipline anymore. Maclean is lost for words to now in his post game interviews "ya know?"
titans04
It doesn't matter who the coach is with this group there's something rotten to the core and until Lou takes the blinders off and addresses it these group will just continue to kill off one coach after another if allowed to. BlueSkirt
should've been Hitch in the first place. He'll be there for 2011-12 though...
ThreeCups
If Lou cans Mac and takes over I will pull my hair out. It seems he really wants to win a Cup as a Head Coach....although he can't reasonably think he will do it with this team this year. I hope Larry takes over if Mac goes. I still wish there was a video of the infamous "garbage can incident" after Game 4 of the ECF in 2000 against Philly...

overtime98
Firing Maclean for this lousy start to the season is a mistake. We cant keep this coaching carousel continuing. let maclean stay for a couple years. He is a rookie coach with half a team that hasnt played together. CarpathianForest
No more excuses. MacLean's not getting through. Lou should come in interim. I don't see Robinson coaching. Didn't he have a nervous breakdown several years ago? How long was Johnny Mac a head coach in Albany? Maddog
I'd have to agree this is Lou's mess, I have to hand it Johnny Mac at least he seems to be doing it his way. Guess only time will tell if it's the right way.
Jerrydevil
Even if you wanted to bring in Carbonneau or Hitchcock, would they accept being an interim coach ... are you giving one of these men a three-year contract when you're in the middle of a quagmire? I don't see why Carbo wouldn't accept an interim tryout job. I don't think he's getting many NHL offers.

bdubdevs
@wyshynski: Obviously a huge Nets fan. RT @JosephPaulillo Friend saw Ken Hitchcock at the Rock last night in the concourse area with suited employees. http://twitter.com/wyshynski
