Numbers-wise and just the situation we are in it seems like he's probably very Marshall-like...just my assumption because I don't even know the guy but that would be my best guess...seems like Lou thinks we can win with what we have...a part breaks get a copy of the part in there until the parts fixed...I still say we need someone who can score but aahhh wellllll....we'll see what he can do....

ANYONE but Langdon :pray::pray::pray::pray:

I would say Ryznar is just a bigger Pandolfo. His ceiling for point-production is a little higher than Pando, but other than that, they are very similar. Both apt penalty killers, both take the body quite a bit, both work extremely hard, both team players, etc.

EDIT: I would also say Ryznar's hands are better than Pandolfo. He can stickhandle a bit.

I think this is a solid call-up.

I really would like the see Clarkson get a shot, though. I can just imagine he and Janssen on the fourth line. :lol:

Thanks to the FOX College Sports package, I got to eyeball Jason a few times last year in Michigan. All I saw, and all the announcers ever seemed to see, was Ryznar's work along the boards. He is the type of guy who comes out with the puck if there is a scrum up against the wall. Other than that, he seems to be right near average (for an NHL'er) in every other category.

So he's going to win the puck and pass it to one of our "scoring" forwards like Parise or Brylin. :blink:

Seems to me a good line would have been some combination of Ryznar/Kozlov/Suglobov then. :whistling:

They should put Ryznar up with Kozlov and Parise. Brylin can't be in a 2nd line scorer position because, well, he sucks at it.

Should be interesting to see what our lines look like tonight. On another note, does anyone know how all these guys that keep getting called up are affecting our cap?

We are now well under the cap and these guys all make the minimum or close to it.

As far as where we really stand... that depends on how one calculates Malakhov's salary.

Sadly, I long for the days when PANDO was THE scoring prospect.

BTW, this was in the NewJerseyDevils.com pregame notes:

The Devils do not have any injuries to report at this time.

Total man-games lost to injury/illness: 32.

Yesterday, the Devils recalled left wing Jason Ryznar from Albany (AHL), while reassigning right wing Aleksander Suglobov back to Albany.

He's a great penalty killer, has little offence in the ahl zero in the nhl. He's no Marshall.

I duno, paired with the correct linemates, I can see Ryznar doing well offensively. He and Tallackson were absolutely flying earlier this season. He certainly has some offensive skills. He must work to hone them, though.
