Crash are you ready to take back the Rams > 49ers thing yet?

Nope.....the 49ers beat up on an equally pathetic Packers defense last year too.....it took Tebow 2.0 a month to complete a pass after that :P

the most foolish thing you can do in football (and the most common) is overreact after Week 1

I am worried about the Saints....one game behind Seattle already is an 8-ball they don't wanna be behind....

Getting blown out by Minnesota at home is a BAD sign for the Rams though, they seemed dispirited after losing their QB (Hill didn't even last one game before being pulled) with the circus the RB thing's turned into.  And the Niners sent a message that reports of their demise were slightly premature although yeah they were playing an even bigger cripple than them.

11k empty seats too is a very bad sign. That franchise is on borrowed time imho and will be back in Los Angeles next season.

The Patriots D is supposedly the best they’ve had since they had to turn in the video cameras and spy kits.

..nearly 400 yrds, 33 points, on the mighty REVIS new-&-improved Pats defense. Maybe they should turn the camera's back on.

heh, I wouldn't write New Englands obituary just yet...

Didn't Goodell already see the actual knockout video before issuing the suspension? If that's true then Goodell is going to come under some serious fire.

Also, yet another black eye for Revel Casino...which is already in the grave.

settle down, Jets fans acknowledge the Pats have been good since spygate.

We still don't know who your team is other than "hate the Jets obsessively"

From 2001-2006, the Patriots won 3 Superbowls.. manufacturing a 12-2 playoff record throughout the span.

*** 2007 – SPYGATE ***

Since spygate: ZERO Superbowls, and only 4 wins over their last 10 playoff games.. and you're bringing up Division titles as the coincidence??!

..read the book that was published last year; "Spygate, the Untold Story" --then come back to me about serendipity. Until then, go away.

EDIT: And Crasher's a Cowboys fan btw.

Spygate was so irrelevant.  It is essentially a "grasping at straws" type of argument trying to defend why your own team has never been as successful as the Patriots.

The story you hear is that there was a strong indication that it played a role in the Pats SB win against the Rams.  It was a long time ago, but I believe the story is that the Patriots appeared to be anticipating everything the Rams were doing up until near the end of the game when the Rams changed their signals.

Goodell did all he could do to Rice under the rules and penalties agreed upon via Collective Bargaining.....and then right after he pulled a Hilter and changed the rules with no such bargaining or negogiations to "save face" in the public eye.....the second part worries me FAR MORE than the first part

Week 1 and Week 17 are always the two worst weeks to predict in football :P

the Chiefs are in BIG trouble though (how does Andy Reid forget to get the ball to Jamaal Charles....idiot....)

I won't push the panic button on any other team unless they do it again this week.....

my only regret from the Cowboys is that watching that game didn't send Jerry to the grave with a crushed ego (and that Frank Gore stunk :P )....the rest I have removed myself from an emotional reaction too....I happily watched Tampa look like Schiano never left :P

The NFL's going to be in even more trouble now if they overturn Gordon and Welker's suspensions based on new rules but don't lengthen Rice's bases on new rules AND evidence.

And I'd see the Rice camp having a FIT (and a point) if they extended his after the fact (and they let that 49er DT play last week too....)

I can't see them doing any of that....its an ugly can of worms indeed.....

You can game plan and watch the films all you want.   At the end of the day its all about execution.

Perhaps the only way the league could retroactively increase his suspension if it turns out he lied during the NFL's investigation.  But you're hearing that the league already had the elevator footage when Goodell made the decision.

I read that too and I think the CBA protects him as well.

Still trying to figure out how we lost yesterday to the Bungles.

You can't run the ball for spit with or without Ray Rice dragging the team around :P

And making Flacco throw was it 61?? times....that's begging for disaster....

maybe the league can nudge the Ravens to release him and offer some weird cap loophole to allow it.....but good luck getting it to stand..... people need to calm their sh!t and accept this one fell through the cracks in the system and the system was fixed to prevent it.....it's ironic that the league is getting killed based on simply how hardassed its been in the past.....

the Ravens would be screwed horribly under the cap if they just turned around and cut Rice based on all that dead cap money for next year.....

I would THINK the NFL MIGHT be allowed a cap exemption for this and allow this in the future as added deterrent to keep this guys from being off the field idiots, but the NFLPA might fight this one
