LOTCB
Thank god fvck you Kansas City. Did you have a bad experience in KC in your life or something? What did KC ever do to you or the NHL?? 7 I almost always respect your views about hockey, you know your stuff, but that comment IMO is off base. How can we all expect this sport to grow throughout the USA with so many comments like these? Remember how people thought of the Devils in the Mid 80's? Big difference now, that is for sure... Things take time. I am happy the Pens are staying, that is the bottom line. Edited March 13, 2007 by LOTCB

Devil Fan
Good, so that the devils may attract more people to the arena with more divisional games.

KC is one of those cities, laying in the weeds, a non existent hockey market with false delusions that they can support a team...they built an arena just to steal a franchise. They remind me of Nashville in 1995. I can't stand these cities preying on real hockey markets. I don't care about the game growing anywhere. I don't want the game forced or experimented with in anyplace where there is no demand for it. Let it be, let the sport thrive where it's wanted. Googer
I personally hate the Pens but I'm still definitely happy that this is overwith, as I would have been very upset had they moved...

Devils731
How exactly should an area show the sport is wanted? Obviously spending million and millions of dollars on an area doesn't show want but other than that I can't think how a city can show they want a hockey team. You have to show it like Hartford, by consistently not showing up to games when you do have an NHL team.
SatansDevils
I also agree that it would have been devastating to the city of Pittsburgh if the Penguins did move. Good for them to stay in Pittsburgh and in the Devils division to remain. Good news to hear finally in Pittsburgh. There will be no KC. SatansDevils
How would moving have effected the number of divisional games? If Pittsburgh moved to KC then they would have gone to the western Conference and Detroit would have possibly came to the Eastern Conference. That was in a few articles days past if Pittsburgh would have moved.

Fair enough and well said i agree...only issue I have with this is and I do not know if there is an answer for this: Is there any proof to back your claim that the Kansas City area wants / feels indifferent to having a NHL franchise come to their city??? I would hope that the NHL takes a long look into this before deciding on where to create a new team /move a team...but this league is run by Bettman, so all bets are off

SatansDevils
The number of teams in each division would have stayed the same though. Yes they would have, but they were going by location so Pittsburgh if they have moved to KC would have gone to the West and Detroit would have come to the East. Or they could have moved Columbus too
