That Ranger team really thought it was going places...they got stronger as that season went on (22-8-1 over their final 31 GP). I'm glad the Devils were able to wreck their mojo just enough.

McLeod is tearing the OHL a new a$$hole.

Uhh yeah I would take an in-prime Gomez right about now.

I do not know how everyone else feels about Gomez, but he was very good while he was in NJ, no complaints about that.

Yea that was right around the time Lou was starting to lose a little off his fastball regarding drafts. We'd always find serviceable guys in the late rounds. Didn't have to be great players but solid contributors. 2006 we just totally whiffed. Lou take Tony Romano...Leo Komarov goes two picks later. Lou takes Tyler Miller...few picks later Matt Beleskey is drafted. There aren't great players, but in the past we did a great job building organizational depth from the 3rd round onward.

You got screwed with a 9:30 London game...I don't care who you are, that game is BS to play in, especially if you're the "home" team. NE gets to go to Mexico City for one of their games...really tired of this "outside the borders" crap, but it ain't goin' away.

Put a heck of a scare into the Rags that year who just had the best regular season in 20 years. Brodeur came in in relief in game 5 and didn't fare too well. Terreri just got lit up at game 7 at MSG though. Rags scored two quick goals and you could tell Terreri was fighting the puck. I've always wondered that if Brodeur had a better 30 min in game 5 that Tom McVie (who looked like Bookman from Seinfeld) would've gone to him to try and stabilize the game.

Who are we kidding, he'll sign with the Rangers. I'm actually feeling positive though about this team's future. Finally building a farm system, McLeod is doing great, Bastian, Speers, etc are doing well. Have guys in the wings like Joey Anderson and the guys on the squad like Wood, Blandisi, Quenneville, Severson, Hall, Palmieri, Zacha...all have youth on their side. Be patient, don't rush the development of our AHL'ers, and allow this rebuild to happen the right way. Could be worse, we could be saddled with a bunch of overpaid players, no farm system, and a slew of contracts to washed up vets...

You know I thought he was doing a better job this year with the BS...but maybe he just had a group of guys that respond well to his antics. It never lasts though.

Torts clownish ways are just too much to take, and players want a guy who knows when to lean on them a bit and when to take his foot off the gas. Maybe he's trying to get better...but I mean every damn time you see him he's barking, yelling, calling out refs. After a while players just roll their eyes and zone him out. In all of sports there is very little room left for the all controlling dictator. This is more of a partnership now.

Physical is good. Probably will wind up being organizational depth which in a shallow organization is never a bad thing.

Not saying I disagree, but he's lived up to the hype on the ice... He also said he wouldn't sign an extension if Bylsma stayed as coach. They wanna keep that kid happy because he's all that franchise has going for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
