As Triumph mentioned, the MHL is essentially juniors and the VHL is the 2nd tier of Russian hockey. Maltsev went back and forth between both early in the year but has been with the VHL team consistently for the last 5 games (going back to 10/16). LittleBallofHate
You are the best, Fiesty! Just wanted to add that Gignac has signed with the Devils... from Fire & Ice: The Devils announced this afternoon that Brandon Gignac, 19, a third-round pick this year, has agreed to a three-year, entry-level deal. The forward, in his fourth season with Shawinigan (QMJHL) has five goals and 11 assists in his first 14 games this season. He played in one preseason game for the Devils after attending the team's summer development camp and also playing for the Devils in Buffalo at the three-team Prospects Challenge. Per Cap Friendly, Gignac's contract is a three-year, $2.775 million deal that carries an NHL salary-cap hit of $925,000 per season and would pay him $70,000 in the AHL.
