LizDevil30
Brown for a pick to Vancouver would be better than this. Eh call me sentimental, Freisen was great in 2003 and no one celebrates a goal quite the way he does.
MissionHockey
The Devils can get a much better player than Friesen with the money they used to aquire him.

MacDevil
Laugh all you want guys. We need every help we can get up front.... This trade can happen, Friesen won't cost much and will make the team BETTER. I don't care what some Friesen haters say but we need a guy like him for the playoffs.... Have you seen our PP latelly ? Our scoring is awfull. Only one goal against Phantoms who were demolished accros the river. We can't beat the islanders becasue they can score two goals agasint us ?!?!?! We should be able to score at least 5 against thier "powerfull" Defense..... This team with the offense the way it is setup, isn't going anywhere.... unless we get some help No Mogilny, No Hrdina and No Friesen equals no second line scoring threat and April exit from the playoffs .... Mark my words ... if we don't get offensive help we'll be goldinf in April...
Triumph
There are so many other players out there better than Jeff Friesen - Friesen was never a power play specialist and never will be. He has no instincts. He is having an atrocious year and will not help anybody down the stretch. I like Friesen and wish the best for him - it's a shame he didn't get to recover from that horrible 03-04 and redeem himself. I think he'll go somewhere like Florida and have no expectations and will do well there. Good luck to him - but his time in a Devils uniform ended in 03-04. There are other players in the league MacDevil - just because Lou doesn't seem to trust non-Devils doesn't mean there aren't other players around who can help much more than Friesen. Where ever Friesen ends up next he better be able to work for dirt cheap because at this point he is worth less than 900,000. If we can get him cheap in the offseason, sure why not. He's fast, he's relatively physical, and occassionally he can score. Sign him to a incentive based contract. Just not here, not now.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Laugh all you want guys. Um........ok. :haha2: :haha2: :haha2: :haha2: :haha2: I already pointed out to you how Mogilny, Hrdina and Friesen are not the answers to our problems here. Apparently in MacDevil-land Hrdina's some kind of scoring machine and 2-goal Friesen's suddenly going to put the Devil jersey back on and turn into...whatever it was he was before, which wasn't anything special (40 goals in two seasons). I guess in MacDevil-land that makes Jeffrey the best forward ever to have worn the red-and-black. Is it too early for a Jeff Friesen Day? If there is offensive help to be found, it's not coming in the form of mopey Jeff Friesen. Suggesting that Friesen could help us down the stretch is like suggesting that Scott Clemmensen should be playing in shootouts instead of...oops! Incentives can only be given out to certain players (Friesen may apply), and count against the cap. There will be a lot less incentive contracts. Someone will take a shot with Friesen - to me Anson Carter has had almost the exact career Friesen has and is a very similar player, and he's rebounded this year with the Sedins in Vancouver. At 900K I see 8+ teams being interested - the upside is a 30-30-60 winger who can play physically, and those don't come around all that often. Both are streaky scorers who can skate well. But also can drive coaches and fans nuts with their inconsistencies. And they're basically a similar age. Be careful with that upside prediction...he's only cracked the 30-goal plateau once and hasn't had 60+ points since the '99-'00 season. Friesen's numbers over the last five years: 2000-2001 SAN 64 GP, 12 G, 24 A, 36 PTS, +7 2001-2002 ANA 81 GP, 17 G, 26 A, 43 PTS, -1 2002-2003 NJD 81 GP, 23 G, 28 A, 51 PTS, +23 2003-2004 NJD 81 GP, 17 G, 20 A, 37 PTS, +8 2005-2006 WAS 30 GP, 2 G, 3 A, 5 PTS, -12 For his career he's now played 800 games and has 210 goals and 288 assists for 498 points. At the very best he might manage 20 goals and 45 points, but I doubt it. He's too much of a headcase. I guess in MacDevil-land that makes Jeffrey the best forward ever to have worn the red-and-black. I mentioned those three guys becasue they were lost for NOTHING. We lost them because our team's salary was elevated by Malakhov and McGillis.... Our offense is DEPLETED and our PP sucks. Our lines are loaded with skaters who only know how to play D and can't shoot the puck... and god forbid to score..... In last three games (including the isles before the olympic break) was painfull to watch the team play.. Even GIO Gomer and Kozlov who showed their offensive skills at the Olimpics... quickly blended with the "team with no offense" In my "MacDevil" land I'm pressing the "Alarm" button before it is too late and something can still be done. In your land you'll start panicking after we will be down 2-0 in the Quarterfinals. I've never said he is "best forward" or he will fix our offense. I said three good points. We can get him for practically nothing... He can help our offense.... espacially in the PLAYOFFS And hell yes... HE WILL MAKE THE TEAM BETTER. His curent stats, after injury and on crapy team MEAN NOTHING.... Edited March 3, 2006 by MacDevil
