Yeah, at least Reinhart was a former #2OA pick. So the pedigree was always there. He was just stuck on some terrible Buffalo teams.

Hyman was a 5th round pick though.

McDavid effect.

You could probably throw on some skates and put up 30 goals on his wing, legit.

It’s funny because Hyman plays the exact type of game that Toronto needs to compliment their stars.   Kadri too but I understand moving him after he made himself unavailable in two straight playoffs with suspensions.

Hate to say it, but it looks like friggin' Lafreniere is finally becoming a pretty good NHLer...he's put up 9 G and 10 A over his last 25 GP, and it's not really luck-based like so many of his other previous "hot streaks" have been...he's getting SOG (69 of them over these 25 games), and he's converting them at a pretty sustainable rate (13%).

That being said, hopefully his ceiling isn't much higher than this.  If a Ranger 1OA that they really had no business getting in the first place turns out to be a guy who puts up 50-60 points instead of a bona-fide star, I'll live with it.

Of course the Caps and Wings went to OT, and Flyers too, but at least the Flyers didn't win outright.  Would've been better if the Wings won instead of the Caps, but it is what it is.

We took care of business though, that's all we can do.  We beat a good Leafs team tonight, even if it wasn't the prettiest win. Gonna have to do it at least once more before season's end, and get a little help.

As @Colorado Rockies 1976 pointed out, it’s worth keeping an eye on the Flyers, as they’re only one point in front of the Caps, and the Devils still have one more game against them, eleven days from now.

The Predators have won again.  I think we know who the real coach of last season’s team was.

He should probably be in the Jack Adams conversation at this point.

I think Tocchet and Torts are probably locks. If WPG keeps stumbling down the stretch Brunette might be able to steal that final spot from Bowness.

Watching Canadiens - Flyers…Canadiens are up 2-0 in the second and are playing the Flyers VERY tough so far.  Torts looks PISSED.

Canadiens about to go on the power play.

Don't wanna jinx anything, but Caps losing to Leafs, and Isles Panthers tied 2-2.

Still 2-0 Habs after two periods.  Flyers played better as the second unfolded but the Canadiens rang one off the crossbar in the waning seconds.

I expect the Flyers to make an adjustment, so the Habs’ 2-0 lead may not be safe.  Torts may be a psychopath, but he’s not stupid/Lindy.

Detroit deserves a playoff spot even less than the Devils do.

They’ve really fallen apart…but as @nmigliore pointed out, lots of metrics pointed to this happening eventually.

Wings now down 3-0.  Canes are ALL over em.

Make that 4-0.

Damn…Flyers pull to within one.

Nope, goal disallowed due to kicking motion.

Torts losing his sh!t.

Power play coming for the Flyers.

The Isles have taken a 3-2 lead over the Panthers.
