Weekes Head
Wow it will be different to have a NHL goaltender as our backup
Elias 2662
Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate)'s reporting it too, now at least we know it must be true!

FightCommies77
Our chances of winning the 3 games Marty sits out have gone up substantially
LizDevil30
Corey was great. Too bad he got injured.
Devils731
Weekes is a much better goalie than Clemmy. For the people concerned with Marty's playing time I think this signals many more games for the backup since Weekes is competent.
rbdf
there's at least a dozen other 12-20 game backups out there that are better than that loser - if they signed him for 1 yr at less than 1mil, then ok, but if they gave him 6 years like zubris and too much money i'll know lou is senile and needs replacing

halfsharkalligatorhalfman
this signing gives us the flexibility to trade marty for defensive help
eaglejelly
Not sure how anyone can really complain. Weekes is a major upgrade over Clemmer and I would have faith in him in nets.People can say he sucks but he has had success in this league and that is a lot more than anyone can say for Corey Schwab and look how well he did in Jersey. BulletToothTony
It's TOM GULITTI and he writes for the Record so he should be pretty good, although he messed up the Oduya thing.

nmigliore
This is a smart sign if this is right.. Hes a good backup goalie and will relieve Marty alot better than Clemmensen.. great sign
TravisZajac
Good sign..I always liked the Kevin Weekes of the Hurricanes I hope he's not the one of the Rangers. He's really signed.. njdevils2003champs
This likely means the end of Scott Clemmensen's Devils' career, unless he signs to play for their minor league team in Lowell, Mass. Clemmensen played in only six games and made only four starts in 2006-07, posting a 1-1 record with a 3.15 GAA.http://njmg.typepad.com/devilsblog/

thefiestygoat
This is a good signing, Weekes is a very solid back up. Now hopefully Marty will be able to rest more during the season. I wonder what team will pick up Clemmensen. Also, I think Doyle is a FA, so I can see him signing with another organization to avoid starting a logjam of goalies in Lowell (Parise and Smith already there). All in all a good deal. TravisZajac
Isn't me or Lou is thinking signing ex-Rangers like Rachunek and Weekes will rage Sather?I'm sure Lou is acting like this;MOUAHAHAHA SCREW YOU RAGSSSSSSSSSSS AHAHAH
LizDevil30
I had a feeling Lou would go for a vet. Weekes isn't even a old vet. Can't wait to see the terms.
