The Devils would sign him to an extension before OK'ing the deal. Definitely going in the deal would be Elias, and then either Parise or Clarkson.Me thinks the Leafs want Parise, but the Devils don't want to budge off moving their best offensive player right now, so they're trying to sweeten the pot with Clarkson. sundstrom Posted February 15, 2008 Share Posted February 15, 2008 (edited) i would have to say this is toronto trying to drive up sundin's price. it makes no sense for the devils to deal elias or parise straight up for sundin let alone together. the move simply does not improve the team in any way for that kind of shakeup to occur. sundin for clarkson +, now that I could understand from both team's perspective. but why, oh why would lou deal either elias or parise for sundin? i wouldn't even do either for sundin and one of their defensemen.
