Rogan The Goat
ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Friday the Blues have acquired goaltender Ryan Miller and forward Steve Ott from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, William Carrier, a first-round pick in 2015 and a third-round draft pick in 2016. Rogan The Goat
Already in another thread. Trade of this magnitude deserves its on thread don't you think?
Muevelos
Well maybe so, but its called 2014 trade deadline thread for a reason. Just clogs more space. Trade of this magnitude deserves its on thread don't you think?
Jas0nMacIsaac
This makes St Louis the cup favorite IMO. They lose a little depth on the wings but now down the middle they are unmatchable.
Lateralous
Pretty much a good deal for both teams. St Louis looks like a beast and the Sabres should be able to flip Halak and Stewart for a few 2nds or 3rds to add to their impressive stockpile of picks. Mike Brown
Good trade for both teams. St. Louis is gonna be tough to beat as if they weren't already.
Neb00rs
I don't like to hate on other posters ever, but it's annoying when someone who never posts, comes on and starts a thread just because they want to break news. It's like, it's not really a big deal, and we could probably keep it in the trade deadline thread. But it is a big trade. On that note: poor Jaroslav Halak, things were so swell... thefiestygoat
I like this for both sides. Buffalo already has a really strong prospect pool and it should be interesting to see if they move Moulson, Stewart, and/or Halak still.
Mike Brown
On that note: poor Jaroslav Halak, things were so swell... He'll probably just get traded to another team in playoff contention. Minnesota is most likely since Harding is probably done for the season.

MadDog2020
Looks like Lafontaine out in Buffalo over the deal: http://fansided.com/2014/03/01/rumor-pat-lafontaine-buffalo/
pumpkin cutter
Blues have been pecking at a run the past couple years. Hopefully this sends em to the finals.
CarpathianForest
Blues are my favorite WC team. Would be sweet and a breath of fresh air to see a team not named Chicago, Pittsburgh or Boston win the cup
mouse
Ott may end up being the key player in the deal, seeing as the Blues were good in goal all along.
CarpathianForest
Ott adds a bit more bite to the team. He and Morrow will be a couple of tough customers to deal with.
AEWHistory
Blues are my favorite WC team. Would be sweet and a breath of fresh air to see a team not named Chicago, Pittsburgh or Boston win the cup I love the Blues as well, but that's because they've been so generous to us! They gave us Stevens, draft picks.... sheesh, they're the gift that keeps on giving.

Colorado Rockies 1976
I love the Blues as well, but that's because they've been so generous to us! They gave us Stevens, draft picks.... sheesh, they're the gift that keeps on giving. Still amazing how the Blues completely screwed up the whole situation with Stevens. They had to know the league was watching them very closely and wanted any excuse it could find to slap the Blues' hands for helping to drive up salaries. Their compensation proposals for signing Shanahan were damned near comical at first...the first one was Dan Quinn, straight up, and they didn't get much better until the very end.
