He’ll juggle the lines. All he’s got.

Montgomery is so much better than Lindy could ever dream of being.

This one ain’t over yet, but even if they lose, they’ll still be 11-5-1 over their past 17.  Also did not expect them to win tonight…sucks that they couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead, but you knew that the Bruins would make adjustments and play much better in the second.  Not exactly a strong suit of the guy coaching the Devils.

Other than puck handling and durability, shaking off a bad goal may have been Marty’s strongest attribute. He was just so calm and cool. Vanecek just doesn’t have that. He falls apart way too easily.

They’ve shown tremendous patience in trying to get him going, but I don’t know how much longer they can wait.  It’s just not happening, and yeah, just too many “snowball” games this season.

Agreed. Vitek made some big stops early, but he's clearly shook now. Same with the defense. Coach hasn't done squat to calm them down. Hopefully nico lights a fire in them, and they come out hungry in the 3rd.

Hard to feel crushed when you're only down 2, but when they just scored 4 in like 10 minutes.... it's pretty ....Ruff...

The only place VV is moving is a contract buyout or sent to the Bing at this point.

I am not saying VV is playing well either, but he did bail them out a few times but he can only be expected to do so much. At this point you need a Sorokin or sh!tstork level goalie to cover up this team's mistakes. HughesCo is right, another 20min effort game.

should I bother watching the third then?

Hopefully they’re not spent physically, and have something left.  The Devils CAN score, as we’ve all seen…so I don’t feel like they’re dead just yet.

That being said, if the Bruins score early in the third to make it 5-2…that’s game.

He was extremely critical of their inability to cover opposing forwards, clear the puck from their zone after shot attempts, etc.

They don't ever seem like they want to out work their opponents. Maybe they got too cocky from their play last season and just want to skill their way to wins. That only gets you so far though. Can't always make a ridiculous pass through 4 players...

Keep it simple

Dare we see a goalie change in the third to shake things up a bit? ...

I’d do it.

This team can certainly score in bunches, and traditionally play very strong in 3rd periods, so I’d say yes. Hopefully Daws will be in net.

I think Jack and Jesper see a lot of ice time this period, especially with three days off ahead of the Capitals game, so they can absolutely tie it up.  In any case, Lindy needs to stick a fork in Vanecek.
