LA03
Just got home from a trying trip to the mall with my parents. I was hoping to come home to a pleasant score. Not so much. Parise, you're kinda cute, I like you--you're a pretty good player for such a young guy and you're going to continue to get better, but I am so not happy you took that penalty. Can we please um get the puck in the offensive zone? Thanks.

American_Psycho
That's 8!! Kozlov's goal was NASTY
Risky
Let me just say that I think we have the single best shootout wizard in the league. Victor Kozlov scores goals that make the goalies look like they don't even have a prayer. He's just amazing. Gionta's been awesome too, but at least he looks like he's working for it. Kozlov for OT MVP. Let's go Devils. 8 in a row. Let's make it 9 against the sliding Icelanders.
Don
Thanks to our penalty shot specialist Kozlov and Gio, we get two points in a game we had absolutely no business being in. Shots were 15-6 in the third period for Nashville. They just absolutely dominated this game and deserved the win. We on the other hand looked even more sloppy than in the Chicago and St. Louis games even though I didn't think that possible.
NYGDevils32
Hats off to Koz. He is the best at shootuts, and Marty and Gionta both helped to put it away. That is 8 in a row!! 8-0 in 2006 and this is just great! LETS GO DEVILS!
devilsrule33
How about Lou's reaction to the win. I've never seen him so happy and when they showed him and the coaching staff go into the tunnel, I saw a few Tiger Woods' fist pumps. msweet
Yes! Good road points. Despite what others say... they were rested... we were on the road... we had many chances... can't be unhappy with this!

Nashville can do that to almost any team though, not every time where the team gets outplayed is it because they suck or the effort sucks. I'll take the two points, I didn't think the Devils would get any tonight. I am starting to wonder if Kozlov's SO goals are going to start to outnumber his regulation goals He's got 10 regulation goals and 5 SO goals I think. BTW Marty had a little something to do with the win too. I'm sure you know that you just didn't mention him in your post when you said Koz and Gio led us to the win

SOG Devils 12- 14- 6 - 35 Preds 9 - 6 - 15 - 31 If the Preds dominated the 3rd then the Devils dominated the 2nd and did slightly better in the first. I think other than the first 7 or 8 minutes of the game the Devils were the better team tonight, the 3rd period SOG total is because the Devils had the lead and the Preds were pressing, we've seen that happenall the time this season both ways so to act like this is some show of Predator dominance isn't true. Don
the 3rd period SOG total is because the Devils had the lead and the Preds were pressing, we've seen that happenall the time this season Which is exactly what I was upset about. ie the "20 minute penalty"/is Larry back Instead of trying to equal their pace, we were dumping the puck out of the zone and not forechecking at all. We tried to defend a one goal lead for 20 minutes. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Devils731
It seemed you were upset that the Preds "dominated" the game, which just wasn't the case.

Marty held us in in the third and I thought deserved one of the stars of the game.
MacDevil
chico is really really bad tonight At the begining of the game he said something like, Brodeur and Vokoun played earlier agasint each other at the Olympics where Vokoun played for Nashvile and Brodeur for Canada ? I wonder what was the score
aylbert
Good game... a bit sloppy but we held up. Kozlov is too big, goalies cant stop him. He can just pull right, look for an opening, pull left... look for an opening... have the goaltender sprawl, and shoot in the empty net... Thats gotta be the 2nd or 3rd time Ive seen the goaltender plop down and lose his stick... just looking silly against Kozlov. Key divison games coming up... lets keep the win streak going all the way to the Canes game Im going too for Scotty....

Vinnie
Marty is a shootout machine. How long till Clarke starts campaigning the league to get rid of the shootout?
aylbert
Marty is a shootout machine. How long till Clarke starts campaigning the league to get rid of the shootout? Marty is great, Nittymaki sucks at it... Clarke will say it never belonged --- and I will agree. Although I mean it (Clarke just wants things that help the Flyers)
NJDevs4978
Well Clarke would REALLY be being a phony then cause he said he was a convert (he hated the shootout in concept but liked it when he actually saw it). Not that that's ever stopped him before since he said nothing about playing the puck when Hextall was doing it...

bruins4777
niitymaki beyond sucks at the shootout, he's just so unsure of himself. you can see he wants to come out, but then doesn't and has this awkard position that leads to him getting beat in the most bizarre position 5 hole everytime. then he tries to pokecheck because his confidence is shattered and that doesn't work either. he's a great goalie, and if he could gain some composure he'd be good in the shootout, but he's simply awful at it. i think kolzig, brodeur, vokoun, and luongo are the best at the shootout. Z-Man
Just got back from the game. I wish the Devs could play here more often, they're 5-1 at the GEC all time. Not much of a crowd tonight, the Devs probably felt right at home. The EGG line seemed like they were out there every other shift. They dominated play at times. Elias seemed like he had half the Devils shots. Kozlov is money on the shootouts. It's so frustrating that he has so much skill, but is useless most of the time during the game. The Preds played very well from the end of the 2nd until the end of the game. It seemed like it was more the Preds playing well than the Devs slacking off. Anyone notice me on TV? I was behind the Devils bench in my Puckhead hat. Probably one of maybe 20 Devils fans in the whole arena.
