STILL obsessed with Rice and RU I see? What does Cinci have to do with this at all? You continue to show how much of a total d-bag you are....

So person writes a comparason showing a back's tendency to fatten up on lesser schools in college and NFL teams in the pros, since he uses and analogy about said back's college career mentions the path the school is on... and compares it to a program in same school's conference that slingshots right past them to where back in question's following THINKS the school is, making a football comparison in a football thread, said annoyed student with no actual retort, does the "I got nothing so I'll make a personal attack" as a reply..... et tu Bruti?? (they still do Shakespere in Rutgers right? B ) )

MISSION 10.6: JETS PLAYOFF CHASE. (the help Gang Green needs) smiley-gen044.gif

Objective #1 - Thursday, Indy vs. Jacksonville. *Requirement: Colts Victory.

Objective #2 - Sunday, Miami vs. Tennessee. *Requirement: Titans Victory.

Objective #3 - Sunday, Baltimore vs. Chicago. *Requirement: Bears Victory.

.................

Awesome start to week 15 as the Colts beat the Jaguars. Our playoff scenario just got a little easier. Jets win, Fish/Raven lose and we control out own destiny. Hopefully Indy takes a break week 16. You deserve it boys...pretty please.

Give the guy some credit man. He has a dominant college career and you try to discredit that. Now you are saying he is "fattening up on lesser NFL teams in the pros". Don't great players tend to have better games against worst teams? What more do you want to see before you stop talking sh!t? The dude is a GREAT player from RUTGERS. Cinci had nothing to do with it at all, just a dumb comment from you as usual. Go back to your blow up doll, she misses you....

He had a GOOD career against MID-LEVEL to bad college teams... see this is where the Rutgers revisionist history comes in again, what they beat ONE top-ranked team his whole career (Louisville)

if Rice was a DOMINANT back in college... why was he a second round pick?

He's a good pro in a league where the value of the individual back is at an ALL-TIME LOW, with every team now pretty much platooning backs, part because there are so many good ones, and part for health and specialization (pass-catchers, goal line backs, etc)

it just happens to be the Cincinnati college program is DOING what you think the Rutgers one is... it's a fair analogy, now if I was talking the Bengals it would be off the mark!

(see look, I can actually answer a question without tagging it with an unneeded and OFF-TOPIC personal insult... can you?)

Any way.... on tonight's game I was amazed the Jags got the ball back when they punted with 3 mins left... AWFUL pass by Garrard there ... this doesn't kill Jacksonville but they are out of cushion now.... a loss NEXT week kills them......

This is why I just lovvvveee debating a topic with someone who has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what they are talking about....let's start at the top for you Mr. Crasher.... :doh1:

"He had a GOOD career against MID-LEVEL to bad college teams... see this is where the Rutgers revisionist history comes in again, what they beat ONE top-ranked team his whole career (Louisville)"

Rutgers revisionist? I think not buddy. Once again, you open your fat mouth without knowing what you are talking about. You are an anti-Rutgers antagonist. 1. They beat more ranked teams in his career than just Louisville. In 2007 they beat #2 ranked USF, but I would not expect you to know that. You were probably too busy getting your money's worth from 1 of the 37 paid pornography sites you undoubtedly subscribe to instead of watching Thursday Night college football. You obviously talk/type without having facts, and you make a bigger fool of yourself with each and every post....but by all means, continue in your pathetic ways....

"if Rice was a DOMINANT back in college... why was he a second round pick?

2. Rice was a steal in the 2nd round for the Ravens. Many people had him ranked as a first round talent but the Ravens were fortunate enough to get him when he slid into the 2nd. In 3 years, Rice has 910 attempts for 4,926 yards. This is 5.41 yards/carry. He also had a measly 49 touchdowns. HAHA! If that isn't dominant, I am not sure what is! He did this in only 3 years, and his freshman year he was splitting carries with Brian Leonard! If he did not go to the NFL after his junior season, he would have broke Ron Dayne's NCAA All Time Leading Rusher record! Are you kidding me?!?!?!? DOMINANT! In other news, Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round, boy does he suck too! Oh wait, you obviously do not know anything about football, so let me think of a hockey analogy for you (assuming you at least know a little about hockey- probably another big assumption on my part)....Doug Gilmour was drafted by the Blues in the 7th round, 134th overall...he was terrible! HAHA...do you know who Doug Gilmour is? Point being, draft selection does not make or break a good/great player. Some players drafted high turn out to be busts, and some gems are found in later rounds. Alexander Daigle was a #1 pick overall in 93...

"it just happens to be the Cincinnati college program is DOING what you think the Rutgers one is... it's a fair analogy, now if I was talking the Bengals it would be off the mark!

(see look, I can actually answer a question without tagging it with an unneeded and OFF-TOPIC personal insult... can you?)"

I am not sure what you think that I "think Rutgers is doing", but they are competitive and get guys to the next level. You like to put words in people's mouths and make things up. So who does Cinci have of recent times in the NFL that is comparable to Ray Rice?!?! The only player of note I can come up with right now is Brent Celek, and he is not even in the same stratosphere as Mr. Rice. (who btw will be a top 4 rated fantasy RB going into next year only behind AP, MJD, and Chris Johnson) OK, enough beating you down as always. My fingers need a rest. Please save yourself the embarrassment and don't respond. I almost feel bad about how stupid you make yourself look... ;) PS- you irritate me so much that the statistical beatdown I gave you was not enough. The personal insults are too easy and quite frankly too funny to leave out...enjoy!

PPS- I hope this doesn't mean I can't get an autographed picture of you with the "Fords Cup"...that would ruin my Christmas... :gd:

OK, I forgot the South Florida game (damn I shouldn't have... got into a fight with the woman at the time then because I told her one of my friends was gonna feel awful cause she was at that game too... and I was right.... she did feel awful, she's a USF alum)

still TWO games in three years, whooooo

I never said drafting a guy number one or in the first round makes them an automatic star in the NFL, and there's been far better back drafted later on too who've been good players (Terrell Davis comes to mind... so does Clinton Portis if I remember right)

the draft is a crap shoot... as is picking players based on their stats (it also seems to be working out for the Ravens and Flacco DEFINITELY worked out for them)... this is why and how the scouts make the big bucks.... and hell I figured for sh!ts and giggles... let's look at the backs drafted that year:

1. Darren McFadden (jury's out on him, that team is SO BAD around him it's hard to tell, but you'd like to see better then you have)

2. Jonathan Stewart (pretty damn good too, just sharing with a better back but anytime Williams is out he's shined)

3. Felix Jones (home-run hitter who might be slowed by injuries already, but was drafted because he can do things Barber can't)

4. Rashard Mendenhall (coming into his own this year, and you can see why people blasted the Cowboys for passing on him)

5. Chris Johnson (possibly the best back in the league... let's just say he's kinda good!)

6. Matt Fort

My two cents:

Ray Rice is NOT the 2nd best back of that class, sorry, however he is not 5th best either. Chris Johnson is definatley number 1, we all agree on that.

all numbers Aside, Johnathan Stewart is a better back than Ray Rice, He too can run and cathc the ball, and hes also a good blocker. You also have to realize, he is on a PUTRID team. (Sorry to any Carolina fans), and he still manages, for the msot part, to shine.

Here is where the jury is out, YOu can put any of a multitide of backs in the number 3 slot, including Ray Rice. Mendenhall being one of them (2nd worst O-line in the league and he still puts up decent to good stats), Forte, Kevin Smith (See good back on putrid team).

There will always be arguments because everyone has their own Bias. IT cant be actually proven unless you stick each guy behind the same exact oline and run the same exact plays and see how they do. There's too many factors.

This is jsut my two cents.

I take RR #2 for sure...he makes plays out of nothing and breaks tackles effortlessly....some Mendenhall and and J. Stew are definitely good, I just do not think they have the overall package that Rice has...it is debatable and will will have a clearer picture of this class in the next few seasons...

I would have picked the Cowboys to beat the Saints. A hunch. Everybody hates the Cowboys because it's December, but they're not playing THAT badly. Can the Saints walk a tightrope every week?

Cincy wins on the road. The Chris Henry death will pull them together but they have the type of defense that can smack SD in the mouth anyway.

Not if you remotely follow the cowboys, you can't. He's an every-down back.... we don't have any need for a carry-the-load guy with the 3 headed monster we have in dallas. Felix is absolutely the better back for THIS team right now.

I said that when I mentioned Felix :P

I was complimenting Mendenhall on how well he's been playing and that people were right to sing the praises of him

(and to be honest I've not seen enough home-runs out of Felix this year and I'm wondering a bit about Barber being a crash and burnout kinda back the way he plays.... maybe having an every down back and using MB as the finisher would not be a bad thing either)

We just won last week 48-3 that was our cure. Jay Cutler is another confidence builder for our WEAK secondary. Ray Rice is an all-pro this year.

Signed,

THE Raven Nation

PS, I think Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson may dispute this statement :P

(Steven Jackson and MJ-D also are putting a foot forward and saying remember us?)

no doubt he's IN the conversation

..... PS... good job guys, we turned troll fodder into legit discussion!!!!!

Newsflash, Adrian Peterson plays for the VIKINGS an NFC team....Chris Johnson, MJD, and RAY RICE will be the AFC boys going to Hawaii this year. (unless one of them is in the SUPER BOWL)

Thomas Jones? He's practically the Jets' offense now and is coming off a Pro Bowl year last year too. Cedric Benson? He was being talked about as getting MVP votes before missing those two games. It's not that cut and dry, they're all worthy though I agree Johnson and MJD are locks for the first two.

It's funny I was pretty sure the All-Pro was ... you know... all pro's... and didn't go AFC and NFC and after googling it .... I seem to be correct

though the all-pro process is much better then any idiocy that gets people to the joke that is the Pro Bowl... any time fans can vote it's an invalid distinction.....

The Chicago-Baltimore game is now in jeopardy Sunday due to the blizzard down here. Apparently the Bears haven't left Chicago yet and there's little chance they'll be able to get into town before Sunday morning.

It's already pushed back to 4pm though...

you'd really think the Bears would get off their asses and get there a day early... what are they gonna do, play it tomorrow???

They GOTTA play this game, it's big for the Ravens... what an annoyance.....they should tell the Bears to get there or forfeit :P

It's not like they played 3 games in 4 nights or anything.......
