USC09
http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=308527 The Rangers have agreed on a deal, but a small snag has been hit that has derailed the deal so far, but stay tuned.
Triumph
i have absolutely no idea who would be trading for ales kotalik. like, none. maybe the oilers got him for steve staios? that deal would actually make a kind of sense for both sides
iamtheprodigy
Yeah, not sure who would want Kotalik at this point.
njdevil26
Just came on to say what you guys already said... I really have no idea what anyone would want Kotalik for and what the Rangers could get in return... Unless this is a salary dump move and it is goin to lead to a bigger trade where the Rags would take on more salary. they must be getting a 5th or a low low low low low level prospect (like a Hugh Jessiman) in return. Weekes Head
i would imagine the snag to be that he sucks.
Triumph
no, the rangers are obviously trading for the wretched refuse of some other team - i can't imagine anyone would even take kotalik for free. i'm just curious who that player might be. Vic Rattlehead18
Larry Brooks claims that the Rangers offered Brashear, Kotalik and Rozsival for Phaneuf.
NJDevs4978
Yeah, not sure who would want Kotalik at this point. The Siberian All-Stars? Or maybe Burke made his 9234th trade of the day...he does have Jeff Finger lying around. Edited February 1, 2010 by Hasan4978

Vic Rattlehead18
Haha the flames probably just hung up. My ranger fan friend said this - "Rangers are saying 'here, take our broken garbage'" and "If I was in Calgary's GM office, I would have my phone on speakerphone, have everyone laugh at Sather, and hang up." RSC
Sources in Edmonton (not Calgary, Edmonton ) tell our lord and savior, Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate), that Jokinen may be New York bound...so we know that ain't happening! Mike441
Flames expected to deal Jokinen to the Rangers for Kotalik and Higgins or Gilroy. Dreger's twitter
Triumph
i could believe jokinen for kotalik and gilroy jesus what a terrible move for the rangers, but it's all free talent so who cares - sather can still take advantage of the 2 GMs dumber than him

Devil Fan
Looks like Higgins and Kotalik are heading to Cowtown while Jokinen goes the other way. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=308527

Jokinen is beter than Higgins and Kotalik and they get Kotalik off the books...win win for the Rags. How the fvck does Sather get someone to take that horrendous contract in Kotalik? USAkid90
How the F does Sather manage to trade ridiculous contracts into assets? He signs them into bad contracts but somehow unloads them no problem

How the fvck does Sather get someone to take that horrendous contract in Kotalik? with the kotalik and blake contracts moving today, it's clear that there's GMs who still need and value players who are signed. i was speaking if it was gilroy moving. yeah, jokinen is better than both of them. USC09
Jokinen is diminishing as a player, in a year or two, he will get dealt again.
