Anhkheg
If Carolina loses the next two to Philly/Devs, Rangers lose to Kings/Devs, we will be 8 points away from 8 th seed with a game in hand. ChilltownDevs2673
Need Coyotes to beat Thrashers, Kings to beat Rags, and Bruins to beat Icelanders to keep em off our ass. All have to end in regulation!

They dont have to win 10 - 12 - 15 in a row, but they cant lose multiple games in a row. This thread started as a very very improbable vision, and has now grown and continued and now while is still a long shot is at least possible!! Lets Go Devils, Knock the Rags off tomorrow night and keep this thing alive!!

95Crash
Tonight's games are interesting because they not only affect us, but also the EXTREMELY TIGHT Western Conference playoff race. We obviously want the Kings to beat the Rangers tonight. And as luck would have it, they have a BIG INCENTIVE to win. They currently sit in the No. 9 spot in the West with 67 points. A win against the Rangers would give the Kings 69 points and would all of a sudden bump them up possibly as high as the No. 3 seed in the West, depending on what the other teams in that conference do. That's how bunched up the West is right now. And the Coyotes, who we obviously want to beat the Thashers tonight, are temporarily sitting atop the Pacific Division and in the No. 3 spot in the conference with 69 points. They are riding a five-game winning streak that temporarily has enabled them to stave off EVERY other team in their OWN division. The Pacific Division's Sharks, Ducks and Stars each have 68 points, and the Kings have 67. Not to mention the Central Division's Predators has 68 points too. A Coyotes loss tonight would put a big damper on their playoff position. Edited February 17, 2011 by 95Crash

NJDevs4978
Carolina has so many home games left that it would be tough on the fanbase to start selling off assets. There's no way they sell off assets, Ian White or no Ian White, he's not a big deal either way. The only way they sell significant players is if they're in severe financial straits or Rutherford's as big a weenie as Brian Burke, who recently said something to the effect of it's not worth it to scratch and claw for the eighth seed. Your right the Rangers winning just annoys me lol. Aslong as we keep winning doesnt matter what anyone else does! Eh we needed the Rangers to keep spiraling and get back in this morass...otherwise either Buffalo or Carolina has to fall off and I'm not sure that'll happen (I'm assuming Atlanta won't do enough to get on their level at this point). puckrock
Tonights action could have a major influence on the Devils. Carolina, Buffalo, and Florida are all in action. Buffalo and Florida play Western teams and Carolina has Philadelphia. Need to re-stock on beer for this one.
