I'm not a big RPG guy, but I saw some footage of Skyrim and the game looks excellent; I definitely want to get my hands on it to give it a try. A few of my friends that are also not big RPG fans have praised it too. I think it was brought up a page or two ago; anyone have it? Enjoying it?

I've admittedly never given The Elder Scrolls a try but I'm eager to try Skryim based on what I've seen and heard.

There's TOO much to do in Skyrim and Oblivion. I'm a fan of open world and stuff...but that game is crazy. I played my buddies copy (who's insanely into it) and after 3 hours of playing we were 0% of the way through the main story because we kept getting distracted by other things. Not that it wasn't "fun" but it seems like too much. After tinkering at the blacksmith's for over an hour and accomplishing nothing, it feels like spending a day at a casino and walking away even. You didn't lose...and you had fun...but you didn't really get anything out of the experience.

Game looks amazing (graphics wise) though.

Skyrim has consumed too much of my life for the past week.

It's just too good. Just...:mindblown:

MW3 is pretty good, brief but impressive campaign. The online is pretty much MW2.5, but I don't mind that personally. I loved MW2, hated Black Ops, so I'm glad they stuck to a successful formula.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this problem, but Skyrim seems to keep freezing up lately on the Xbox 360. My friend also had his game freeze the other day, though I'm not sure if it's a recurrence for him. There doesn't appear to be any scratches on the disc or anything. Is it just the game? I remember reading in the IGN review that the game has crashing issues but I wasn't sure if he meant for PC or Xbox 360 (or both).

Other than that, the game, as I've said a few times already, has been amazing. Even when I finish playing I have a desire to just turn on the system and start playing again 20 minutes later. Very addicting.\

Edit: haha, another issue I've run into all of a sudden is that I've been getting attacked by NPC's like crazy... until I realized I had to feed (I'm a vampire). Thought it was some crazy glitch from the game freezing. lol this game is nuts.

Not sure if we have any Nintendo faithfuls around here, but I just got a Nintendo 3DS (along with Super MArio 3D Land) and am so far pretty impressed with both the system and the game. The 3D effect really works (provided you hold the system the correct way) and the game does a good job taking advantage of it to make for some very fun gameplay. I'm wondering if anyone else here has one and if so what do you think?

I'm going to wait for one more prcie drop before snagging one up. Problem is, Super Mario 3D Land is one of maybe 5 good games on that system. The game got a 9.5 from Game Informer and the only other quality titles are old N64 games (Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64) and the Street Fighter game. Interesting concept of a system but there's simply no quality software for it. Things are looking up after the holidays with the new Mario Kart and other games, but I hope it's not too late as Nintendo's focus goes to the Wii U.

What else about the system are you enjoying, Mario 3D aside?

Yea that was what made me wait until now to get the system, but there some new (seemingly good) games on the horizon, so I decided now was a good time to invest.

Honestly, the biggest upgrade I've noticed over the DS (other than 3D obviously) is probably the circle pad, which in my opinion was one of the major areas that the PSP always beat the DS. Amongst the actual features though, I do like the fact that you have access the Nintendo e Shop. I definitely see myself downloading numerous old games to relive the glory days. There isn't much there right now, but you can definitely see the potential such as downloadable remakes of some of the classics in 3D (for example they just released the original Kirby's Adventure with a 3D makeover, which I found kinda weird considering the game is 2D sidescroller lol). I also believe it's backwards compatible with DS games (haven't actually tried yet), so you can keep those. The ability to take 3D pictures is kinda cool (although I really don't see a situation in which I might use it, other than to show it off).

On an aside and as a warning to all, I do have to say that if you are someone who gets pissed off easily by little problems that really don't affect anything other than pissing you off, than this may not be for you (at least until the inevitable revamped version of the system comes out), because there are a few of them. For example, the 3D effect is cool, the inclusion of the gyroscope and accelerometer is cool, but when using the two together, unless you move you whole head with the display you will screw up the 3D effect and probably screw up whatever you're doing in your game. Also, I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to put it there, but the volume control is on the left side of the handheld, so when holding it your left hand goes right over it. Already numerous times I've gone to press the L button and accidentally turned up the volume to max (which is really loud), and had to scramble to turn it back down.

Does anyone have experience with creating plays in NHL? My roommate and I decided to create our own breakout because we can't take the stupidity of the AI teammates anymore. We came up with our own breakout that actually provides passing options unlike whatever the players default to, but we have a hard time getting it to initiate during a game. It starts with the left defenseman possessing the puck behind the net and skating out to his left, but most of the time it won't start the play up. Also we are scrimmaging each other now to try it out and the play initiation circle thing shows up for my roommate but it doesn't appear for me for some reason even though I am using the team that I used in the create play mode. Can any of you guys make sense of this or is is just a lost cause?

To bridge the gap between now and Christmas, I started playing Devil May Cry on the PS2. While I can see why it was pretty mind blowing at the time, the game has not aged well and good lord, it is hard as hell! Two missions in and it gave me the option to play on Easy Mode. Naturally I say no and proceed to get manhandled by the giant spider boss about 5 times. Corny dialouge, not quite sure why I'm in a castle after some chick breaks down my door and asks, "Hey! Wanna do something?" but it'll be an entertaining deversion until I see what Santa brings me.

I also have Bioshock 2 and Metriod Prime 3 collecting dust, so maybe I should popped either of those two in.

In light of recent Current Events, has anyone played Homefront? Not a great shooter or anything special...but the story and especially the first 10 minutes left me with chills. Kinda scary considering the news today.

One game: Batman, Arkham City. Loads of fun so far but I'm still getting used to the true non-linear aspect of it.

Although it's kinda hard for me to focus on someone like Deadshot shooting random people when I'm, well, infected with Titan. fvcking Joker...

The probability of me getting the Star Wars MMO is very high though. I played in the beta and it was a stunning experience. Just a matter of deciding where I'm getting $15/mo from to pay it.

Got a $50 gift certificate for Gamespot...thinking of putting that towards a Kinect. My daughter is still a little young for gaming (only 3 1/2), but I could see her getting into it, especially if "she's the controller". Just have to make sure there's decent games for it first.
