CarpathianForest
So you want to basically make a trade that doesn't help anything.
Satans Hockey
No thanks, we would be giving up way too much for such little return.
Devil Dan 56
So you want to basically make a trade that doesn't help anything. Well, it gets rid of that pesky first round pick...
William D'Aquila
Blake Wheeler is an elite power forward, and Michael Frolik is a very good penalty killer with a decent scoring touch who can skate.
mfitz804
It's a good thought but I think we'd be giving up a little too much.
Zubie#8
Why would they trade Wheeler.
William D'Aquila
Obviously it is a small sample size, but the Jets are likely not going anywhere this year. We give them a d man with a great deal of potential, a young power forward in Matteau, a veteran scoring forward to keep them competitive, and a 1st round pick in extremely deep draft. SterioDesign
any trade with the Jets not bringing back either Ladd, scheifler or Kane doesnt interest me
Chuck the Duck
No way I'm trading that first round pick this season.
mfitz804
If be hesitant to do that also. Plus 3 players and a 1st for a guy who has only broken 20 goals twice, plus a so-so role player type? That's giving up too much. Mike Brown
Too much for that package. Larsson and a high draft pick for Kane I'd do.
CarpathianForest
Salvador for Big Buff. Do it, Lou!
Devilsfan118
First round pick could be a lottery this year. No way I'm moving it unless it's packaged to bring back some, young talent.

I'd trade Salvador for a pulled pork sandwich. I'll even give the sandwich whatever Sal is earning this season.

Mike Brown
A lot of you haven't seen Blake Wheeler played. Blake Wheeler is a great player. The Jets would have no interest in trading him though.
William D'Aquila
Mike, like i sad earlier the Jets as they are currently put together are not going anywhere. Are you telling me they are going to turn down a potential first pairing dman, a 1st round pick, and young power forward for wheeler and an expiring contract. I would be shocked if they said no to that package.
NJDevs4978
That's the kind of all-out trade you make if you're trying to win a Stanley Cup, not if you're trying to make the playoffs. Wheeler would not suddenly turn this team into a Cup contender. And it's 50-50 you're giving up a lottery pick. If LA makes that trade there's basically zero chance they're giving up a lottery pick. Exactly. With guys like McDavid and Eichel at the top of this draft, you'll be hard pressed to find any playoff bubble team (which the Devils are) willing to part with their 1st round pick this season. Can you imagine if we made the trade proposed, don't make the playoffs and then "win the lottery" only to watch Winnipeg select McDavid. You might as well burn the Rock down now with how this fan base (at least the dedicated hockey fans) would react.

hystyk28
I like Blake Wheeler, but that proposed trade is silly. I also think very highly of Little. I dream of having Trouba in a Devs sweater.
