If that's what Hall's extension looks like, we'll be in pretty good shape.
LittleBallofHate
@TheFourthPeriod Seguin contract talks almost broke down yesterday, but the two sides made serious ground in the evening and finalized this morning. His deal comes in at 8-years, $78.8M ($9.85M aav)
Devilsfan118
Man good for him... Seguin got paid. PAID. I can't imagine Hall comes in that low. I hope so, but I'd be very surprised if he doesn't get Tavares money here. Also, for shiggles: Edit: 99% chance it's photoshop and/or bullsh!t, but hey it's fun to imagine right Edited September 13, 2018 by Devilsfan118

But there are rumours out there that we were in the mix and that's enough to screw up with my productivity today

If the Devils want to trade for a player and the other team accepts the offer, a trade is done. This goes for ALL teams. The Devils aren’t excluded from this process. titans04
True other than most of the more reliable sources have him going out west.
DevsMan84
I am sure a truck with a Senators sponsor logo on the side of a road leading to a what appears to be a gravel driveway = Karlsson is a Devil.

I consider Dreger reliable. West just makes most sense since the Sens are in the East, it doesn't make it impossible. Also, fvck the Sharks.
Devilsfan118
Hard to imagine the Sharks will be outbid after clearing all that space for JT and missing out.

They're on their way to having an all-star blue line but an anemic offense. Everyone knows they're just going to choke in the second round like every year 😊
NJDfan1711
I'd give him 3 years 3M per, and let him prove himself. Thereafter, he could potentially get a larger/nicer contract depending on how he performs between now and then. Today's his birthday. Pay the man. Correct, I more meant that they went through the preparations to land a big fish and were essentially left at the altar. I would be surprised if, strictly from an assets perspective, San Jose is significantly outbid.
DevsMan84
In no way shape or form is a player who largely only played on 5v5 situations, got he least ice time of all of our forwards against the other teams bottom 6 players and only got ~30 points deserves more than $2-2.5M a year.
NJDevils1214
San Jose is going to have to clear some cap space just to take EK so they can't take Bobby Ryan's contract on as well. They might have to sell more or possibly get a 3rd team involved as a cap dump to make it work. Maybe Shero can swoop in if he can take the Ryan contract. I think the Must-take-Ryan part was rumored to have been dropped off. also that Stars announcement video is hysterical

That is NJ's niche since NJ has the cap space.

Oh I get you, we have that bonus for the Sens that we can bury Ryan, just saying it just might not be a deal breaker/maker anymore
