Someone recommend me a good TV series to start. I tried Better Call Saul but couldn’t get into it.

Drama preferred over comedy. I have Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu (without live TV add-on).

I like watching new shows, but also older ones with lots of seasons that I just never watched.

Recommend me something.

How many of the HBO golden age shows have you seen? I’m assuming you’ve at least watched The Sopranos, but after that there’s The Wire, Deadwood, Rome, Six Feet Under. All of which are excellent.

Some of my favorite non-HBO stuff…Justified, The Shield, The Americans. Not sure if they’re on Netflix or not, but Amazon Prime definitely has at least The Americans (that’s where I watched it).

All of the golden age HBO shows, multiple times actually. Justified I tried but didn’t like. Never tried The Shield or the Americans, maybe those I should try.

And if you don’t mind subtitles, Gomorrah is fantastic. It’s on HBO MAX.

I tried, but I’m not into subtitles.

Not sure what streaming service it's on but Yellowstone might be up your alley.

Check out High Maintenance (HBO). It's weird and may be for a particular audience but you'll know if it's for you after the first episode.

Ozark (Netflix) is good if you haven't seen it.

If you wanted to dip into comedy, I just watched the 2nd season of Dave (Hulu) and it's brilliant. I think you may like that as a dick joke kinda guy.

And last but certainly not least I'd have to say Atlanta (Hulu). I don't know if it's comedy or drama but it's amazingly well written. Donald Glover absolutely kills it and I heard that he is currently filming season 3 and 4 back to back.

Just finished it, and you are right, I really liked it. That Beth is one crazy ass b!tch.

At first, the character is so annoying and irritating...but as you get to know her and more of her backstory, you can understand why she is the way that she is.

Don't know if you've ever heard the actress who plays her interviewed (Kelly Reilly), but she sounds NOTHING like Beth in real life.  Very heavy British accent.  Always found it interesting how many Aussies and Brits can just put on an American accent (even different types of American accents) so easily, while most Americans trying to go the other way sound ridiculous (even many American actors who've tried British accents have had wildly varying results).

I was never annoyed by her, I found her very entertaining from the start. My wife hated her lol.

And yes, I hate when I don't know an actor is actually British or Australian. Usually you find out at the end of the episode, when the seemingly American actor says "G'day mate, lets throw a shrimp on the barbie and stay tuned for scenes from our next episode".

I may be exaggerating that last part.

She was so petulant and childish and such a trainwreck (though as we know, could be quite assertive and productive in other areas of her life...and her sweeter and loving side really comes out with Rip).  She's a lot of different people, and they all seem to be at war with each other.  She can be SO badass too...who could forget that lil' "shopping trip", heh heh.

re:  the accent thing, yeah, was funny seeing the cast of True Blood being interviewed...Anna Paquin without the Louisiana affect, Ryan Kwanten with his Aussie accent, Stephen Moyer with his heavy British accent...you'd never know about any of them if you watch the show.

And we've discussed it, but Kate Winslet nailed that unique Pennsy accent in Mare of Easttown...probably a hell of a lot better than many Americans could.

Absolutely, which is why she is so entertaining lol.

Very good example. I guess that's why they call it "acting". I know I could never pass as anything other than a Staten Islander. unless the listener was really dense.

When this came up last, I knew the exact accent you meant but I had not seen the show. I did watch it after, and its absolutely accurate. Sounds like a regular person until they hit a certain word, and then the accent pops out. She did an excellent job.

Alright Spencer. You're suing Nirvana and everyone involved citing exploitation and saying that it constitutes child pornography...

You have a Nevermind tattoo on your chest, you re-created the iconic photo countless times. You've been quoted saying “It’s always been a positive thing and opened doors for me.” and “I’m 23 now and an artist, and this story gave me an opportunity to work with Shepard Fairey for five years, which was an awesome experience,” he said. “He is a huge music connoisseur: when he heard I was the Nirvana baby, he thought that was really cool.” He made countless appearances at conventions signing autographs etc etc Who exploited who here? Could have been a completely different baby and it wouldn't change anything to the cover. Plus his parents got paid for it.

But now... "It’s hard not to get upset when you hear how much money was involved" and "I have suffered and will continue to suffer lifelong damages.” These include “extreme and permanent emotional distress” as well as “interference with his normal development and educational progress” and “medical and psychological treatment”.

I'm no Sherlock but my 2 cents is that it sounds like you just want money pal.

I also read an interview where he said he used it to pick up chicks with the line “do you want to see my pecker…again?”

To me that demonstrates he didn’t feel exploited and that he also could probably be sued for offering to show everyone his ding dong.

Also, for at least one of the recreations, he suggested to the photographer that he should be naked, and the photographer declined.

Saw this whole thing and Spencer is making an ass out of himself.  This is one that should just be thrown right the fvck out of court.

My girlfriend is really into cheesy crime drama so we recently watched through Bones. It's so corny but in a good way. Now we're starting American Horror Story Series 1 (she's seen it before) and I gotta say it's just fvcking awful.

A lot of American Horror Story seasons start off pretty well before they get driven off a cliff halfway through. I enjoy a lot of them but I'll watch almost anything horror wise so that's why I keep watching lol

He's just doing what he was taught from a young age, chasing after that money.

Speaking of Kelly Reilly’s Britishness, she’s fantastic in Eden LakeIt’s s British horror movie from the late 00’s co-staring her and Michael Fassbender. It’s about a group of teenagers that terrorize a couple on vacation. It’s really good, but it is absolutely BRUTAL. Like, it doesn’t pull any punches at all. It’s definitely one of the most fvcked up movies I’ve ever seen.

I may have seen this a while back…this sounds very familiar.  I’ll have to check it out (again).
