sundstrom
This Devil's team as we know it is done. while i'm not saying it's over at all, anything less than a cup will make the above sentence very sad if it's true. while guys like klee, albelin, and kozlov won't be back, and there may be some departures like marshall, brylin, and rassmussen, it would really hurt to go out with a wimper to the canes and then see elias depart and have contract issues with gionta/gomez lingering while finding out that the 3 bad contracts of the M, M, and M crew might hurt the cap. that would really be the worst thing i could imagine. MacDevil
I'll bet anyone on this board that the Devils will not come back. I'll bet you... What is the line ?
devilsrule33
Who would of thought that game 2 would hurt more than game 6. Overtime wasn't this bad this time because I just relaxed and said we'll lose this one. If the Devils are going to lose, hopefully we can have some 4-0 losses because these games hurt too much. Second time this year that the Canes have tied the game late against us.
Devils731
I wonder if the Devils had started the year 15-2 if people would be flipping out. I'll bet you...What is the line ? He is sure so you should be able to get like 250-1 odds or so I'm guessing.
westcoastdevfan
I almost prefer to lose 6-0 then like this. The next 2 at home will be very different. I will not be swayed theDevils will bounce back.
njdevils783
damn you guys are manic-depressive. Considering the team is also manic depressive i guess it would eventually rub off on the fans. take the lead with 20.7 to go and blow it 17 seconds later?????????????????????? top of the world to bottom just that fast. I HATE YOU LUKOWICH I HATE YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH the a$$hole lets who was it Stall just stand in front of the net god damn it

Devils731
If Lukowich had tied up Staal and the other guy in front of the net had scored would everyone still be killing Lukowich? I'm sure they would actually because it's always somebodies fauly, even on a bang bang play like that.
Z-Man
i hope Suckowich has a stroke before next game With comments like that, go over to the Flyers board. You give Devils fans (and human beings) a bad name.
Devilsdude530
Well boys, the most we can do is take both in NJ and take what happens from there. There will be better days, say Tupac and myself.
sundstrom
sundstrom please - Whitney scored off two bank shots and Stillman into an empty net. I'm still supremely confident when these guys have the puck in a non-PP situation - or didn't you see them fvck up numerous chances tonight? i'm just saying you're tempting fate. then again, i'm afraid of both adams players so what does that tell you. langsgirl
With comments like that, go over to the Flyers board. You give Devils fans (and human beings) a bad name. I was thinking the same thing... we get mad at the Flyer and Ranger fans for wishing hurt on our players..and then we do it ourselves. Devilsdude530
Madden has to win some more faceoffs, but don't call him an a$$hole for that 1 play. I've had enough for one night. Better days everyone.

devils744
the canes are a lot better then i thought they were. they took it to the devils in the 2nd and 3rd periods. they do not quit and they are fast as hell which i think we all knew would cause the devils problems. as already pointed out they aren't doing enough offensively to win these games. having 9 shots in the 2nd and 3rd is awful. give the canes credit though. i believe they come back and win both games at home. MacDevil
Considering where we were right after the trading deadline this run has been great. I admit I was very down on the team when Lou didn't get any offensive help and I talked trash about Lou and staff, but I give him his credit for the turnarround. I kept my mouth shut when the team was on the 15 game winning streak cause i didn;t wanted to jynx the team. If we are to come from behind against the Canes, we can only do it with strong D and physical play....and nothing else. But that would be ebough if we lost this game 4-0 or so.... At this moment, the only recipe for success is: If Lou can erase the last 17 seconds of the regulation from the players brains, we will tie the series in the swamp. Derek21
That's a tough way to lose a game. But look at it this way. If not for Brodeur, that would've been over much sooner. He gave your team a chance to steal it. Unfortunately, the Devils didn't take advantage. You should remember though that with their experience, it's not over. Carolina held serve. If you win Game 3, you're back in it.
'7'
You can say we didn't miss Scott Stevens all year if you like.Bottom line - in those last 20.3 seconds of regulation, we missed Scott Stevens. He never would have let us play that way in our own end. And where was Stevens when Jaromir Jagr tied it up late in game 6, 1999? about 2 inches away. How about Graves in 1997? about one step behind. Stevens wouldn't have a made a difference.
Voros19
It's a shame, because Lukowich had an absolutely fantastic game up until the last second goal. He can't really be completely faulted for that.
'7'
Even Brind'Amour dove today, and he's never had the rep of somebody who tried to draw penalties. But it worked, so hats off to him. If you can pull it off you get rewarded.
Derek21
Anyone watching the postgame on MSG? Stan and Matt were arguing back and forth. LOL
squishyx
i dont know how anyone can call themself a devils fan and give up because in a best of 7 series we are down 2-0. We lost a ball breaker tonight, that happens, giving up on the team is just pathetic. How many of you counted the devils out vs the flyers down 3-1 in the conference finals? And ya know what, win or lose the next 2 it doesnt matter, this is our team and you support the team no matter what. ranger fans see there team make the playoffs first time in 9 years and then watch them get sweept in the first round to there cross river rivals and have the decency to stand and applaud... how many of you could say the same if that had been us? devils26
I would love to say something classy and inspirational but I can't find the words right now. Every game is seperate from the others, so the horrible events of this game will hopefully not affect the next game. I will not give up faith, I will go to Game 3 and cheer as loud as I can until I lose my voice (if I have not already), and do everything I can to help this team win. I will never give up, I will never lose faith in a team that I spent about 88 days watching over the past several months, I will always be a Devils fan. I have the confidence in this team to win Game 3 and then I will take it from there. LETS GO DEVILS Edited May 9, 2006 by devils26
