  1. I'll be at this one, so figured I'd make the thread. Will be interesting to see how we fare after having four days off (I really hate that the entire schedule this season has seemed to be one of two very distinct things, either a back-to-back scenario, or a long 3/4 day layoff). Curious to see if Jack and anyone else make it back into the lineup after having a few days off to rest and recover. Also curious if Daws gets the start or if coached go back to VV. Regardless of who's in the lineup ended net, there's no excuse if the team comes out flat or is not ready and unprepared. Let's Go Devils.

  3. @smelly why must you act like a condescending and arrogant SOB? You have been around since 2002, just as I have, so you are not a child yet persist like a tween. "I have knowledge you don't but I can't reveal my sources." WTF! Just converse and get off your high horse. Don't tell me I can't read or comprehend either. I see what you do. Geez. btw I can still see your crap even on ignore. Give this forum a break and stop acting entitled. 😤

  4. I figured I'd make it since I'm gonna be there, and I didn't wanna forget. I don't think I'm the only one who makes 'em early. 🤷‍♂️

  5. The $64,000 question. I love Tua, but I’m very disappointed how he has performed in big moments this year. I wanted to draft him because I thought he had the clutch gene. That’s proving untrue. Saturday would be a great time to change that.

  6. Now the real season starts with a clean slate and the Bills better be ready to take care of the Steelers. Mahomo has been off this year and when he makes perfect throws, his receivers can't catch em. If this continues to play out, the Dolphins will be there in the end with a chance to win it. Can Tua be clutch and send the Dolphins back to Baltimore?

  7. Awesome thank you! I'm undecided if I'm going to the game just yet, I'm visiting family near Orlando. The WWE Royal Rumble is also at the same time where the Rays play so I'm debating which one. The Devils game at 1pm would have been perfect to be able to go to both. I'm kinda waiting to see how we are playing because tickets really aren't that cheap and I personally don't love road games.

  8. I'm grabbing tickets tonight, just waiting for a friend to confirm if he can go with me. I'll post the section once I have them. Yeah I've lived in SW FL for 20+ yrs now and have gone to hundreds of games. Parking is not too bad, there is a big garage right next to the stadium if you can't or don't want to walk - I don't park in there so I don't know how much they charge nowadays. There are other lots across the street from the stadium that are just a few minutes walk and I'd say most of them are $20-30 for parking. I have a little hidden gem that I have parked at for years, it's a small lot about 5-10min walk from the stadium that holds 10-15 cars and is attached to a lawyer's office. It sounds sketchy, but in 20 years I've never been towed once. I went to a game last month and actually left my car there overnight on a weekend and it was fine lol. If you want to know where this lot is, PM me and I'll send ya the location. I'll probably be going to the game at the end of the month too. That game is the evening of Gasparilla, which if you don't know what that is, it's a giant pirate parade that is held in Tampa every year - it's an absolute sh!tshow, sort of like the Florida version of Mardi Gras, but thankfully it should be mostly over and dispersed by gametime. As for other things around the stadium, if you get up there early enough and want to "pregame", there's an area called Channelside that the owner Jeff Vinyl revamped a few years back - bunch of shipping containers turned into food and beer vendors, right by the port of Tampa. Cool area and only a 5 min walk from the arena. There's also a local bar called Hattricks that's sort of a Bolts game staple. Another place called American Social is on the backside of the arena, on the water. And they just built a Yard House literally right across from the arena which looks cool. I haven't been yet as it just opened last month, so it'll probably be packed, but if you're familiar with Yard House it's a pretty cool spot. And if you do go to the game and are interested in meeting up to say hello, by all means feel free. I met 1214 from here several years ago and it was awesome to put a face to a name, even if just for a few minutes.

  10. L G M F D! Re: the goalies, VV will have to get one game, and Daws will have to get the other, as the Devils have yet another back-to-back coming up Thurs-Fri.

  11. They never learn. 11.5 per season for all 8 years and a full NMC for Nylander. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/maple-leafs-sign-william-nylander-to-eight-year-92m-contract-extension/

  12. So another bargain-bin signing: Sean Manaea for 2 years, $14.5 million per year, Opt-Out after the 2024 season. He both started and relieved last season, but obviously the hope is that he can be the pitcher he was from May 22-on: 90 IP, 73 H, 38 R, 34 ER, 26 BB, 96 K, 3.40 ERA (3.04 FIP), .218/.283/.325 against (only allowed 6 HR for this sample). His numbers were even better once he joined the rotation in September. At least this signing feels like it has some degree of upside.

  13. The Dolphins can win in KC, but the weather will not be doing them any favors.

  15. Game turned so completely on that punt return that tied up the score...also hurt that the Dolphins couldn't fully take advantage of three Allen turnovers. Tua is obviously a legit NFL QB, but how good? Is he one of those QBs that you can only win so much with? He needed to be better than he was last night, especially in his own building. Dolphins are obviously a pretty good team, one that if it can remain healthy should contend for playoff berths for a while, but it feels like they're missing something, that one thing that could separate them from the "pretty good pretender"-types. I'm not sure exactly what that thing is. Because of you and one of my best buds who's a massive Dolphins fan, I'm rooting for ya both. Especially against KC...Mahomes is talented AF but he's come across more and more as entitled and bitchy this season when it's not going his way. Would love to see the Dolphins pull off an upset here. On another note...an era is obviously coming to an end in NE, and no one has any real idea as to what's coming next. All I do know is that once a highly successful run ends, the "next one" isn't often right there, just waiting to happen. Most organizations "with a tradition of winning" see that tradition end once certain people leave or simply see their time run out. The Pats were a winning organization with BB and Brady as a tandem leading the way. Now that they're both gone, the Pats can just as easily go back to being what they were for most of their existence prior to those two being in the fold. They could be yet another franchise going through regime after regime in trying to find the right guys, just like so many others. Will be very interesting to see where BB ultimately winds up. I can see it being the Chargers.

  16. I’ll be rooting for you guys. I would love to see Tyreek go back to Arrowhead and stick it to them.

  17. I am glad I am not the one to make these decisions but spending nearly 50% of your entire cap on 4 forwards seems pretty nuts.

  18. Our other defensive Michigan prospect Ethan Edwards managed to get on the score sheet: He had surgery in the off-season but played his first game back in an exhibition against the USNDTP. He had two goals and an assist. He was having a really nice season last year. So let's hope he can come back and pick up where he left off.

  19. Nah man. Injuries or no, this is for the division. You don’t wave the white flag. I don’t like our chances in KC anyway. Gonna be cold as fvck and snowing there next week. I’ll take my chances with the Bills at home two weeks in a row. Hell, we almost beat you guys in Buffalo with Thompson at QB last year. You always play to win.

  20. I think it's safe to say I'll never be making a "season predictions" thread ever again. Just pure jinx

  21. It’s very frustrating. A couple of wins in those back end games and we’re locked into a top three spot in the Metro. But this has just been a very challenging season. Injuries can derail a lot. Injuries are why I think your Bills are winning tonight over my Dolphins. Both of my teams are just walking MASH units.

  22. Pretty classless. Dude stayed out there and finished his shift with a broken foot ffs. Anyone doing anything other than wishing him well right now needs a good look in the mirror.

  23. The Chicago Rape Supporters have an entire top line on IR. But they are Chicago so fvck them i still cannot figure out where Miller’s goal hits him. Ref signaled knee. Guess that removes “kicking motion” from the option? I’d like to think our coach was told that but he’ll never admit it.

  24. For where the team is now and where it’s trying to go, Lindy is so not the right guy and it’s become more and more obvious as this season has unfolded (even though the results haven’t been bad at all, especially given the injuries). As there rarely seems to be any gameplan or real semblance of a system or blueprint, it feels like there’s a constant reliance on the considerable talent that’s here having to almost freewheel their way to wins. It’s great to have that kind of ability on this team (especially when they’re actually reasonably healthy), but that talent needs to be harnessed and organized. In the early 90s, the Devils were accruing serious talent, but it wasn’t until Lemaire came on to the scene with a real system to implement that it truly all came together. I don’t know who that “Lemaire” guy is who can help the current team, but I do know it’s absolutely NOT Lindy.

  25. The worst part is he has a built in excuse for this season now with all the injuries. Not a chance in hell Fitz makes a change this summer. Even though it’s clear as day to everyone but him that Lindy isn’t it. A coach like Torts would have this team top 3 in the division right now. Even with the goaltending issues (which would be somewhat mitigated due to his system). Top 5 scorers on Flyers: 1. Travis Konecny 2. Joel Farabee 3. Sean Couturier 4. Travis Sanheim 5. Owen Tippet Top 5 scorers on the Devils: 1. Jack Hughes 2. Jesper Bratt 3. Tyler Toffoli 4. Luke Hughes 5. Nico Hischier Now which team is ahead in the standings again??
