Devils731
I thought Devils did not give out bonuses on ELCs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They do. You can see them on capgeek, they've been doing it for years. Most players don't achieve any though.

Marshall
Seems like Josefson is out tonight, which is INSANE. fvck this coach.
Zubie#8
Yup these are lines from morning practice. Cammalleri Zajac Jagr Havlat Elias Ryder Ruutu Henrique Brunner Zubrus Gionta Bernier Extras : Tootoo Josefson
Triumph
I don't like it but I like what the Zubrus-Gionta-Bernier line has been doing, so it's hard to argue a ton. Obviously if they go with Henrique-Elias-Havlat then Josefson stays in the lineup. Seems that they are also liking Brunner's ability to play PP point - when Merrill gets back, he might sit again. But hey, what the hell do we know, we're just fans right? Obviously our eyes were deceiving us and Josefson was clearly playing like sh!t, and deserves to sit for the likes of Needle Nose Brunner... One of the things he has going for him is the ability to lead the rush and gain the zone in the PP which we have trouble doing sometimes. Onddeck
wow... i need to edit my statement from the other thread, where i was saying JoJo needs to be in the lineup, but I propsed that happening by taking Gionta or Bernier out... but I completey overlooked the fact that Brunner is in the lineup. WOW... i can't believe Josefson is sitting.. he's been arguably one of our best players over the last several games... such a shame
SterioDesign
i dont care much about Tootoo but this sucks... per Chere Jordin Tootoo a bit upset he'll sit out tonight. Parents, sister and large group made trip to Winnipeg at great cost. of course there's always a risk and that's part of the game but still i hate sh!t like this. just like when we sat Larsson in his ONLY chance to play against his childhood idole Lidstrom. William D'Aquila
Tootoo is on thin ice as it is. I have backed Deboer in the past, but it is inexcusable that Jo is being scratched.
SterioDesign
and again, this is another reason why it must be SO frustrating for some players to play for Deboer... if you're not on his side. no matter what you do its like you won't ever recover from it. JJ deserved big time to be on the ice tnight. And you watch... we'll go to a SO and we won't be able to score. Not guarantee that he would have scored but he proved he could twice this season

John Wensink
It be funny if it wasn't so predictable. I think that's what I don't like about DeBoer. All of his decisions are very predictable fro lineup to game play.
MadDog2020
How can Lou support this? Honestly. Say what you want, there really is NO good reason for Josefson to be sitting the way he's played. None.

Yes, he did - he was not a healthy scratch again, even when the defense all came back healthy, DeBoer was taking other guys out of the lineup. They have to find a way to get Josefson in the lineup, but I don't see it with the lines as they are now.

We all knew Fayne had to be incredibly frustrated with Deboer. And sure enough he bolted on his first chance. We've heard those stories before
Triumph
How can Lou support this? Honestly. Say what you want, there really is NO good reason for Josefson to be sitting the way he's played. None. Josefson isn't a right handed shot, and the Zubrus-Gionta-Bernier line is working quite well. So either you can: A: Break up the Zubrus-Gionta-Bernier line - either sit Bernier, making it Zubrus-Josefson-Gionta or sit Gionta, sticking Josefson in there. B: Put Henrique with Elias and Havlat, pushing Ryder down to the third/fourth line, giving them Ruutu-Josefson-Ryder/Zubrus-Gionta-Bernier. This creates issues on the PP because you don't have a regular point man for the PP - you can use either Greene or Larsson there, but then this impacts what you throw out there at even strength after the PP. I don't think there was any way they were going with a Ruutu, Josefson, Henrique 3rd line. If this becomes a trend, I'll get upset. For now, it's a game - I imagine DeBoer will be asked about it and he'll say this isn't because of anything Jacob's doing or not doing. Difference being Larsson is (or should be) a part of the team's future, Tootoo is a fringe fourth liner that's been in and out of the lineup as it is. It'd be one thing if Tootoo was told he was playing in advance then they changed their mind but I don't think that happened. He made an assumption and got hurt. Did Mark Fayne recover from being a healthy scratch early last season? Yes, he did - he was not a healthy scratch again, even when the defense all came back healthy, DeBoer was taking other guys out of the lineup. They have to find a way to get Josefson in the lineup, but I don't see it with the lines as they are now. Just play Josefson with Zubrus (or Ruutu) and Gio on the wings. So much for rewarding guys playing well, Josefson was arguably playing the best hockey of his career this season.
Devil Dan 56
I'd prefer Josefson in but I don't think it's a big deal if he sits here and there. We tend to focus too much on the day to day. Big picture, he's played very well for a bunch of games and he will play plenty more

Devilsfan118
This sounds a bit asinine, but a part of me wishes the Devils had kept losing so Lou was forced to make changes. JJ shouldn't be sitting.

Big picture, he's played very well for a bunch of games and he will play plenty more true but the team we are playing tonight is the only team we have beat in a shootout in 2 seasons. Who scored that shootout goal? Josefson. He should be in besides the shootout thing but that should basically cement his spot in tonight's line up at the very least
