Game Stats

The Devils entered the 2007 calendar year with a 3-2 win yesterday afternoon at Ottawa, a 4-3 win Thursday night vs. the NY Islanders, and a 3-2 shootout loss Tuesday evening vs. the NY Rangers, snapping a three-game winning streak. The team finished 10-4-1=21pts in December, surpassing its win and point marks from October (6-4-1) and November (6-5-1). Overall, the club was 52-22-7=111pts during the 2006 calendar year, including a 30-9-4 mark to close out the 2005-06 season, and a 22-13-3 mark in 2006-07. With Saturday's win, New Jersey is 7-1-2 in its last ten games, and 12-4-2 in its last 18.

The Devils' 24 victories, 52 points and .634 points percentage are tops in the Atlantic Division. Defensively, New Jersey's 100 goals allowed are the fewest in the Eastern Conference.

The Devils are now 14-3-3 through 20 home games, and 10-10-1 (.500 pts %) away from the Meadowlands. A 3-2 loss December 12 vs. Buffalo snapped the club's season-high seven-game winning streak on home ice, while a yesterday's decision gave them consecutive wins on the road for the third time this season (6-2-1 in last 9 road games). With a victory today, the club will have three straight road wins for the first time this season. New Jersey reached the ten-win mark at the Meadowlands in the fewest number of games in its history (tie, '87-88, 10-1-1 & '97-98, 10-2-0).

Today, the Devils will close out their tenth of 16 sets of back-to-back games. The club is now 8-2-0 in first games, and 5-3-1 in second games when playing on consecutive dates. New Jersey will return to the Meadowlands Wednesday vs. St. Louis (7:30 PM, FOX Sports Net New York, Sports Radio 66 WFAN).

Nice work on the GDT msweet.

LET'S GO DEVILS!

Thank god I'll be able to watch this game as I missed most of yesterday's because of work, and only caught the 3rd period. :(

Guess all that ice time for the defense yesterday came back to haunt us.

It will eventually. Rafalski can't play 36 minutes every game without feeling the effects eventually. Martin with 30 plus again also. At least Hale gave us better minutes tonight and Lukowich's injury actually kept his minutes down a bit.

Gotta love the Montreal press. Brodeur didn't get one of the three stars while Huet got number 3. I'm sure it doesn't bother Marty. He's satisfied with SO #87.

It tells a lot what they think about their offense if they believe that shutting them out is not worth a star
