Exit56
The TV Broadcast is too good. Plain and simple. They should hand out headphones to everyone that wants them, with the Audio feed from Doc & Chico. That would increase the entertainment value of the team and the game exponentially. Reverend_Hellh0und
I am curious as to why so many people ask without doing their own research.Outside of the 200s and the Club, every seat is over-piced. The 200's are nicely priced and the Club seats get what they pay for. Anywhere else is just not worth the money. At the right prices, the place would sell out every single night. +
StarDew
Huh? High cost of living means higher salaries which means just as much disposable income percentage-wise as another part of the country.
annabelle
A. Vancouver is in Canada. B. There aren't 8 other professional teams within 20 miles of the Canucks. They should've sold out 1,000 straight. Edited January 30, 2008 by annabelle
pattyelias
i know that...I was kidding..but seriously...why are there always threads about this if one person has all the answers? And honestly your statement about the Canucks being in Canada doesn't really mean anything...The Jets were in canada....The Oilers AND Flames have had attendance problems in the past...so yeah.....i guess being in Canada isn't the answer to having good attendance..now is it? Being in a Canadian city isn't bad for attendance, thats for sure. Plus when the Jets, Flames and Oilers struggled at the gate they did this thing called SUCK. NJDevs4978
13,595 tonight, I think that's the lowest of the season. Can't say I'm surprised though given the fact we have two against the Penguins inside a week (and two other weekend home games sandwiched in as well). pattyelias
Right. Canada = place that loves hockey. New Jersey != place that loves hockey. We get that. As for 8 other professional teams within 20 miles... uhh... population of Vancouver is 500,000 with 2,000,000 in the metropolitan area and New York is 8,000,000 with 22,000,000 in the metropolitan area. You could have 16 other professional teams and it still wouldn't be a good excuse.
njdevils783
Just to give you an idea of how great and safe newark is the medical school just released this statement Thefts from Vehicles - Newark Campus Over the past few weeks there has been an increase in the amount of GPS units stolen from vehicles throughout the City of Newark and in the University parking areas. In most cases reported to the Department of Public Safety the units were left in plain view. It is important that when parking your vehicle, follow a few simple steps which may help reduce the chance of becoming the victim of theft. Vary your parking space within the lot or garage. Ensure windows are up, the vehicle is locked and alarm set (if equipped) every time you park your vehicle. Stow all removable electronic devices, bags, cases or packages in a trunk, storage compartment, completely out of view or take them with you. Be alert at all times and report any suspicious persons or activities to Public Safety. Keep in min that this deck is for STUDENTS not patients and has a gaurd at the booth all day. Also you require parking passes and an ID just to get in. Newark is great.

karupin
I go to RVCC out in the country in Somerset County and we have had this same problem with GPS thefts as of late. We also have a security staff in each lot. These things happen everywhere and most of the time because people forget to lock up or leave their windows down. You are reading way too much into things. Hell, at my last school in the middle of nowhere Maryland we had that problem and that security staff was on 24/7.

njdevils783
Says the person from Clifton. I'd rather live across the street from the Rock on a game day than Clifton on any day. That was so dumb I had to register to respond. Clifton is a stealth hellhole. I don't care if you live in one of the "good" neighborhoods there. Because in the "good" neighborhoods you get your shoes stolen at gunpoint. njdevils783
Hmmm....I've had nothing stolen from my car and haven't seen any thefts or issues in either of the parking lots I use. But sure, this release is obvious proof that going to Newark is dangerous. Edit: There is a warning before the game that pucks fly out of the rink and have killed people before, being at the hockey game as a fan must be incredibly dangerous then. Reverend_Hellh0und
My point was that Newark has a long long long long long way to go. There is really no part of Newark your going to walk around at night and feel safe its just not going to happen yet. Geez the security people themselves have told numerous stories about doctors being pulled right out of their cars at gun point on bergen and south orange ave. Yea thats one area but you have the bloods set up nicely on the other end of newark off of Mcarter highway. Not saying Newark can't one day be a nicer city, its just a long way off.
