BlueSkirt
When the time ran out and the Bon Jovi tune started playing on the PA system as the Devils celebrated, I can honestly say I don't think I've ever been prouder of being from NJ. The hair on the back of my neck was standing up. My wife was laying in bed next to me, and we both had our Devils jerseys on. She was screaming and I was doing my He-Man impersonation (which she loves by the way). Saw this gem in another thread, and I figured all of us on this board could share "our" moment with the others. Let 'em rip...
westcoastdevfan
I counted down the clock. Called the kids inside to watch. Then my wife and I jumped around wildly and then hugged. It was a great feeling. The kids jumped on the beds the furniture. (Normally this would be a bad thing but it was a special day.) Next I ran to my VCR to make sure to record it all and the press conference on ESPNnews. Then I ran to my computer and wrote something on the board, then I logged out so my wife could write something, then I logged her out and logged back in. You get my point. eldon
Was in 206, row 13, watched the entire celebration. Then down to the Fan Club table which was just a section away from where 1050 radio was broadcasting their post game. Hi-5'd & hugged friends I first met 15 years ago after joining the fan club. After about another 45 minutes, made way out to the parking lot & found some other tailgating friends & toasted with champagne. Then it was off to the Tick-Tock diner, Home by 2am; watched video until 4:30 then changed & drove my nephew back to Newark Airport to catch his flight back to Miami, so he wouldn't miss a day of work. Slept until 9am, then went to work.
Risky
My brother and I screamed our heads off from 213 until every single player left the ice. Light-headed, we took a spirited drive home in the Audi with little or no regard for posted speed-limits.

peteyvegas
Me too. I couldn't breathe until Freeze scored with 3+ mins left. Then I sat down and dwished this was a Fri or Sat, so I could drink myself into oblivion
LizDevil30
I was home with my family. I couldn't take the pressure so I was hiding out in the bedroom. I kept flicking between the game and reruns of Law & Order. Then my four year old son comes running up the stairs to tell me they were winning. I ran downstairs to watch the final 3 minutes (no flicking). When the clock ran down, we all were yelling and screaming. Exaltation!
DevilsFans
Sitting in 241 or like 10 minutes screeming my head off....Then made a dash to get my spot on the glass of the Devils Bench!! Then when they kicked us out I Toasted with friends in the parking lot then moved my party over to the Winners door to get my baby autographed and to touch the cup!! Jimmy Leeds
Was in 206, row 13, watched the entire celebration. Hey I was in Section 206 Row 11 with David Puddy! Which seats were you in?
Rock
Was in 237 saying "How could you leave the puck just sitting there with 6 seconds left and a shutout on the line, with a Duck still in the zone?" Stayed until the team photo on ice. Had to get my daughter back home since she had an exam the next day. She studied before the game and during the long intermissions in the seats. GA Devil
Sat in a bar in the Nugget in Reno. The bartender turned the volume up to drown out the slot machine noise. When Rupp scored I scared some old couple just a few seats away. Friesen scored and I only said a quiet, "Yes!" while performing a drumroll on the bar. When Friesen scored again, I, like Pepper, just exhaled. Kind of funny living in Nevada, it seems like the only thing people care about are the over/under. Go figure. I had about a dozen people quiz me as to what it was. (Don't know what it was, don't care). Even had someone ask me if it was halftime. So while the presentations are going on and I'm drumming on the bar with glee, the 'tender offer up a shot of Chivas Regal on the house (I know I said Crown Royal in a previous post...ooops). Considering how many beers I had by then, it just sent me over the top. While I was explaining to the 'tender that it would have been 4 in 9 if not for '01, I had some schmoe give me a "Yay Avalanche." "Screw the Avs!!" guushed forth from my lips. Nearly got tossed out of the casino. What a great night.
devilsadvocate
We sat in our seats at the CAA, the same ones that we have sat in since the Devils came to New Jersey. Only one of our children wasn't there when the Devils won the Cup in '95, and she is truly my Devils baby.... I went into labor with her while sitting in the Meadowlands during the 1988 playoffs. This time she was there with us.... without meaning to sound like a Drama Queen, I kind of felt like we had come full circle! It was the best! njdjlc
Watched the game in my kitchen with my daughter and assorted previous Stanley cup merchanise placed around the TV. (Also taped the game as well) Didn't breathe until first goal was scored. After Friesen scored breathed a little more. For the last 2 minutes of game, stood and cheered. Yelling for Dano to be on the ice at the end. After all the celebrating on ice. Took the bottle of champagne shook it real good and sprayed my yard. Went on the boards and when I finally went to bed slept better than I had in weeks. NEW JERSEY DEVILS STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
