Mitico12
Now the Devils will officially turn the page on their franchise. The only stalwart remaining will be Elias, and if he's not in the front office at some point in the next decade I'm gonna be pissed.
Devilsfan118
Is there anything substantiated in this article? They don't quote any sources besides the NY Daily News, which is crap. Nothing from TG or any other credible sources. I'm not attacking you, OP, I'm just pointing out this is probably still purely speculation. mort4345
Still waiting for more confirmation. I'm here in Minneapolis and my MN Wild friends are already jumping up and down. With Parise and possibly Brodeur to the Wild, they're now trying to convince me to become a Wild fan. I had to explain to them 20 times over that's not how it works. I also explained that it would be nice if the Wild didn't have to raid the Sabres, Preds and Devils just to field a competitive team. devlman
With this possibly being Marty's last game, the fans HAVE to chant his name and let him hear the love all game long. With this being such a big game, I'm hoping for a raucous atmosphere tonight.
squishyx
Seems a little weird to agree on a trade and then let a center piece in the trade play a game, no? If it's true I hope Marty get's hurt and scuttles it all and retires
MadDog2020
Smoke=fire. You don't need 25 legit sources to add two and two.
Crisis
Smoke=fire. You don't need 25 legit sources to add two and two. You need at least one legit source, which we're still waiting for.
ThreeCups
This is what I suggested in another thread yesterday, and was killed for it... In the case of Brodeur, things could be handled differently than they would for other players. They could have granted the final game wish before the trade is official....who knows Lots of speculation all over
CHIP72
With all the Devils fans who were at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday, that was like a home game.
MadDog2020
You need at least one legit source, which we're still waiting for. We probably won't get that until after the game tonight or tomorrow. Everyone is gonna deny everything until the game's over.
CHIP72
I wish I lived a lot closer to Newark.
Devils Pride 26
If Brodeur does indeed leave, I came to terms with it a while ago. If Marty leaves than it's because he wanted to go. Plain and simple. I respect his decision, and it certainly does not make the Devils a bad franchise or are they at fault on this.
squishyx
At a minimum, the title of this thread is misleading. Is there really any value in posting every single speculative post any random beat writer puts out? I hope it's not true, but if it is, lets just wait for a credible source to actually confirm it. Is there even an author behind this particular article?

Microwavepizza
I don't make a habit of refuting reports, but there's no indication inside the Wild that this Martin Brodeur story is true and No NHL GM is going to risk a trade to let somebody play one more ceremonial game in front of fans, risk injury and ruin trade. - Mike Russo (Beat Writer for the Wild) makes a lot of sense, but we shall see what happens
bondman99
Hmmmm... cheapest seat for tonight's game on StubHub is $80....
Namelesz
All I see in all these Brodeur trade rumor stories are him going to the Wild. I have yet to see anything on the return trade or any other pieces/picks. Like many others are saying, I'll believe it when I see it. Hi, I'm VALUE!
I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is in a weird state because of the Brodeur NTC, and him basically saying I want one more home game to agree to this trade. Not that I have sources, but does it sound any less plausible than anything else we've heard so far on this?
