95Crash
Players get frustrated, don't you think coaches get frustrated too? It was obvious that PDB was a bit off kilter in his press conference last night. His frustration was showing. Good thing is that there's NO PRESSURE on the Devils at this time. Everyone in the world is ready to hand the Kings the Cup, maybe even before the drop of the puck on Wednesday. The Devs have to come out and bury a few (if Quick allows a few) and take it from there. Will Farrell said that the Kings will win in 5. Let's hope we at least get that 1 game and go home to work on the other... Absolutely! His frustration is understandable. I just hope he makes some sort of move. What that would be, I have no clue.
95Crash
What about on-ice strategy? Are there any specific strategic changes on the ice that the Devils should be making?
Zubie#8
What about on-ice strategy? Are there any specific strategic changes on the ice that the Devils should be making? Really cant make any system changes now. Both these teams play exactly the same way its just that the kings are bigger, faster, and have an incredible goalenteder. ThreeCups
The question is, do you coach to possibly win 1 or 2 games, or do you coach for the future. You can want to believe that we can win 4 straight, it's very romantic, but you are probably the same people that buy hundreds of dollars in Powerball tickets each time it get's crazy big. I would show some respect to the vets and the future. Let Hedi get some time, put Sykora in for Poni or Bernier and let Larson play for Volchenkov. It is want is is at this point. Status quo isn't working. Do something. Fvck the future! You coach to win the damn series each and every game...end of story
NJCroMag
I'm gonna go outside the box here and suggest the four-skaters/two-goalies approach. We have nothing to lose at this point.

Devils Pride 26
Sit Kovy. Not for poor play, but to get this team in desperation mode again. Obviously, they will be down 3-0 and already in desperation mode but they need a spark. Everyone raises their games when he's out.

RedArmy8
Sit Kovy. Not for poor play, but to get this team in desperation mode again. Obviously, they will be down 3-0 and already in desperation mode but they need a spark. Everyone raises their games when he's out. They had their best effort in the game he sat. Kovy is slowed and far, far, far too turnover prone without his speed. He is a liability right now.
CMONPETEYD
Sorry to say, JOsefson should sit. Sykora for his shot should come back in. Larsson as well.
Mitico12
The only reason Kovy doesn't sit is because PDB will "respect" his best player. There are a million and one reasons to NOT play Kovy, especially considering he's hurt, however, respect to the playoffs top point getter is what is the aim here. SterioDesign
i want Larsson in for experience and i think Sykora should have a chance to play in the final, at this point he deserves a shot the devils CAN'T win that series without luck, they just can't. it's been pissing me off all playoffs/season long that the devils has been restraining their play at trying the same repetitive set play "dump/chase/win battle/pass to the point/pass to the other point/shoot/deflection attempt" thats what they'll go for about 95% of the time. All our forwards will be facing the glass fighting for the puck on the boards the whole shift in the z-ozone. it worked against other teams cause they were winning battles and got some breaks once in awhile. But its not working at all against LA, they are winning all the races to the puck, winning battles, getting the puck out very easily with a good breakouts, and they are not getting rid of the puck for nothing. this is a fact: the devils would have never scored a goal like LA's 2nd goal... we all remember how it went right? 1- Kopitar was between the blue and the red line with Zach putting pressure on him. He made a cross ice pass to Williams. So just there... you almost never see that watching Devils hockey. In that situation they'd try to get to the red line and dump it. OR if they do make a cross ice pass its gonna be a terrible pass way too far, hard or behind the guy. 2-William got the puck in the zone, made a drop pass to Brown and brown made a cross ice pass to Kopi who scored. Again, in a Devils system chances are Williams would have sent the puck around the boards to Kopitar so he can try to win a battle along the boards... OR... Brown would have taken a shot directly cause getting the puck there seems to be like a hot potatoe they panic and take a shot who's never have a chance to get in on an unscreened quick (im looking at you Clarkson) so that's just an example, but the devils restrained play is hurting them cause they are predictable WAY TOO MUCH and to score they rely on way to much hard work and luck to go in their favour. like i swear if the artificial intelligence would play like the Devils are in NHL12 i'd win every single games that im playing against the computer. RedArmy8
Sorry to say, JOsefson should sit. Sykora for his shot should come back in. Larsson as well. Josefson has been fantastic since getting in the line-up. There is no way he is sitting.
Marshall
Why on earth should Josefson be the odd man out? Because he was the last one in? At this point, they have to play Larsson. Give him the experience. No-one is particularly deserving of being scratch for him, but let Harrold take a seat.
CMONPETEYD
Josefson has been fantastic since getting in the line-up. There is no way he is sitting. Josefson is too timid when it comes to shooting the puck. His O is not near where it needs to be.
Mayday
sit Ponikarovsky, Harrold, Zidlicky and dress Sykora, Tallinder, and Larsson. At this point...I just don't know. Carter-Gionta-Bernier Parise-Henrique-Zubrus Kovalchuk-Elias-Josefson Sykora-Zajac-Clarkson Greene-Fayne Salvador-Larsson Volchenkov-Tallinder Marty
squishyx
Tom Gulitti @TGfireandiceJacob Josefson wearing green jersey as an extra forward today along with Boulton and Janssen. Means Sykora will be on one of top 3 lines. And Tom Gulitti @TGfireandiceAdam Larsson first one on ice today for Devils, followed by Janssen and Boulton. (I think that's usually an indication that he won't be playing)
devilsrule33
Signs pointing to Sykora getting in for Josefson. Not a big fan, but at this point...
ghdi
(I think that's usually an indication that he won't be playing) Yea, he's been first on the ice almost every practice. I'd guess that as of now, Larsson will not be in. I'm perfectly fine with Sykora going in for Josefson.
maxpower
Sykora shouldn't be going in for someone with legs, when there's so few guys with them. Zubrus/Clarkson/Poni are an utter slog right now.
losdiablos103
NO WAY PDB sits Poni. He's one of the only big bodies we got to match up with them.
halfsharkalligatorhalfman
Josefson has been better than Sykora, but who knows, maybe Sykora can finally get a clean shot to go in on Quick.
