'7'
Anybody else sick of these stupid blow up toys? Might as well hand out pots and pans because that's exactly what they sound like. We were wedged between two bozos (one ranger fan, one devil fan) who just couldn't stop beating these things. What are hands not good enough anymore? As the game disintegrated on the ice, and the alcohol started to take effect, I began to notice some fans posing for pictures brandishing the thundersticks as phalluses. Many creeative positions were on display. That we found hilarious, but I imagine parents with young children might not find it too funny. sandman441
I am not a big fan of those things. They are cool and everything but some people are idiots with them and put them over your head and hit them together and it kills your ears. sundstrom
simple matter of economics. the thundersticks cost 1/5 of what the towels (which are great) cost
Guest troycrowder25
I never open my thundersticks, I want a towel or even a pom pom. The pom poms make me feel a little fruity but I use em anyway.
M.
I guess the only thing more annoying than sitting around drunks with thunderstix is sitting around obnoxious children with them. I hate them. I've had to leave my seat during two playoff games because they triggered a migraine.
langsgirl
The man across the aisle from me was an angry man...came with 4 kids..probably all in the age range of 6-10. In the beginning of the third.. the one sitting next to him was banging them..i can only assume the dad told him to stop and he didnt...the dad grabbed the sticks and popped them...poor boy lost it. Now im not a fan of the thundersticks.. but seriously..dont bring 4 kids to a game if you cant handle some noise. I cant say that I heard any unusual banging coming from there
CRASHER
inflatable penises suck... that's all there is too it I miss the towels... so much cooler looking are they... I need to dig into my archives and grab some I took from the 2003 playoffs and stuff to use them now for games !!! Go figure though that we can blame Anaheim for these abominations too!!! msweet
They are lame just like most of the timeout entertainment.
peteyvegas
Between the loud music and those stupid things--why do I have to go deaf at a friggin' sporting event? It was more fun years ago when the noise was made by only the voices of the crowd. I'm too old for this!!!!!
ceddvlsfn
Scott - I figured if there was a way you could blame something else on Anaheim you would - but I totally agree. As for bringing towels etc. from home for the game Monday night, I had already hit the Delaware Memorial Bridge late Friday afternoon before I realized all my stuff was back in VA. BTW are you going?? Colleen inflatable penises suck... that's all there is too it I miss the towels... so much cooler looking are they... Jerrydevil
They're awful. I agree. I blew them up at home for the cats to knock around.
skeeter
I can't stand them either. The only thing I used them for was to torment my roommate's cat in 2003. I'd always have some annoying kids behind or in front of me having sword fights with them or just hitting anything they could with them, including the back of my head. Just bring back the towels, and not those gigantic ones from the finals either. They were almost impossible to swing around. It was like trying to swing a doormat around over my head. DevilMinder
I have still have mine from last season in a bag somewhere. Horrible things, the Nets use them too. I would rather the towels also...

langs15
The first time we got them back in 03', I think it was, I hated!! them, I love the towels that they used to give you!!
langsgirl
i deifnitely prefer the towels.. no noise... but the towels were so cheap that as you twirled them, all the stuff started to come off them and if ya actually used the towel at home..the color came off easily too. El Diablo
The old towels were nice material... anyone get the #1 finger? I have one somewhere..
Puddy
Obviouisly towels are superior (functionality!), but I really think the handing out of inflatable dildos is totally justified when you have a building that utterly absorbs noise, making the fans sound like a group of muted gimps on television. Coming home to the game replay was awesome last night, since I knew that there would be a loud Devils presence on a national TV broadcast. That hasn't often been the case without the stupid plastic deelies. Also, people complaining about the noise at games: you really need to stop. I'm not happy that the radio plays Linkin Park over the Replacements, or that Slayer isn't played on the organ during games, but complaining about such things is for ineffectual curmudgeons. We're all getting old. Deal.

Risky
The pom-poms look coolest on TV. Thunderdicks blow.
M.
The pom-poms look coolest on TV. Thunderdicks blow. Nah- the foam fingers looked way cooler than pom poms or towels. They really just need to make those stupid nosiemakers smaller, so you don't get knocked about with them as much.
ev0lemi
yeah not a fan either. the idiot next to me, who, granted was by himself and lonely not only wouldn't stop mutterring a play by play under his breath and telling me about the Nets, kept hitting me in the head with his! and i'd ask him to stop or be careful and he'd apologize, but next time, there he was again. i don't use them, but i'll keep 'em. And whats with the beachballs in the lower bowl?? i love a loud crowd, and i know for a fact that if its a loud enough, blowup dolls or no blowup dolls, it comes over. go watch stevens night if you need reminding ;D
