i haven't been to LA casinos but i can assure you that the borgata is nicer than any of them.

plus NJ is trashy and russia is trashy, what's not to love

lmao

The Borgota is the best NJ has to offer and believe me, it is a joke compared to any of the 15 major casinos in vegas

i was mostly amusing myself with this anecdote, because i figured that most here did not even realize that LA has casinos, and so would think i was talking about las vegas. but los angeles does have several casinos. i've not been to any of them, but they are notoriously terrible, as maxpower and risky have attested.

capgeek #nhl #anaducks have about $16.2m in cap space available with 20 players signed after Eminger/Voros deal http://bit.ly/9Ekq0T

Well ... anyone think the Ducks are setting up to swoop in? Apparently they could afford him and Anaheim is practically L.A. ... best of both worlds for Kovalchuk?

Nope, haven't heard anything about them being interested.

At this point, if another team grabs him, I just might be sick. I can handle him going to the Kings, obviously I'd love it if he stayed here, and I can handle it if he goes to Russia. We've been prepared for all three possibilities for over a week now. A *different* option, though? My stomach's turning just thinking of it.

I think the Ducks have one of those self-imposed salary caps. As I understand it, that's one of the reasons they unloaded Pronger, Giguerre and why they're playing hardball with Bobby Ryan. I can't see them giving Kovy the $60-70 million he wants no matter how cap friendly the deal might be.

I guess if they were really interested, they would have done something by now.

it's possible, but i doubt it. they have the cap room but they have an awful year coming up in 3 years where basically the entire team is UFA. giving kovalchuk a 7 year/56 million dollar deal isn't going to help with trying to keep getzlaf, perry, and ryan long-term, plus putting an even halfway decent team around them.

Of course, it's just reckless speculation on my part. After actually looking at the move, it turns out the trade only cleared $125k in cap space for the Ducks, so it doesn't really look like a sign of anything at all, really. I just saw that CapGeek tweet and my Kovalfried brain started connecting dots that probably aren't there.

Although, to be honest, the idea of losing Niedermayer AND Kovalchuk after excruciatingly long waits to the same damn team ... ugh ... my stomach is churning too.

Ok, time to toss my 2 cents into the ring.....

I'd love to have Kovy, but not at the expense of not signing Parise to a long term deal. If I had to choose, it would be Parise.

I'm tired of waiting but it is what it is.

If we don't sign Ilya then we have cap room to move. If we do sign him, we have no cap but an amazing talent. I am really excited about this year.

Hmm, after a little research it appears Chachorro is correct. Julia Paes is her real name.

 this thread.

Forget Kovy, the Devils need to sign her to the ice girls.

Make it happen Lou!

I beg to differ. When I would go down to LA from NorCal, my throat would be burning and eyes watering. However, when I would be around the NYC/NJ area, none of those things would happen. Then again, I have to admit my bias in that I seriously hate LA.

This is true. LA is the only place where my eyes burn and itch while I'm driving and the windows are closed with the A/C on.

I cannot believe the arrogance you post, it's as if you have some kind of academic qualification that trumps all others.

You are condecendeing, fractious, and intolerant, not to mention arrogant, smug, and, self important.

The sooner YOU realise that there are people who are far more intelligent than you ( critical thinking shackles you) or are far more educated than you, the better YOU will be.

I will never put you on ignore (because I'm not a coward) I'll just laugh at your inapposite posts.

This thread is easily the best I've ever read on this board.

"I've not been to them....." but I'm perfectly qualified to judge them ....

Awesome. I just couldn't resist.

Nothing better than a few wacky folks dumping on LA who've never lived there because of air and bad casinos.

.... you would think after all the tiresome Jersey Shore and Sopranos stereotypes of NJ
