What did SD do this time that everyone is killing him?

he assured us all that kovalchuk is signing here, just like he knew for a fact that gomez would sign in LA

normally i'd blame everyone involved for this thread becoming a totally unreadable mess, but i blame mark (N)Єverson because it's more fun that way.

This is nothing new, but maybe it'll get some conversation started:

Kovy and Devs have work to do

"Now comes the difficult part. How do you pay him $8 million a season and not show that on the books?

The answer from a team's perspective is to front-end load a contract. Case in point, Marian Hossa. He signed a 12-year deal, paying him just under $8 million a season for the first seven years, and then it plummets to a paltry $750,000 in the final two seasons. The bottom line? A very manageable $5.2 million dollar cap hit and the club can still manage to build a team around him.

It works for Hossa because he'll be in his 40's at the tail-end of his deal, however Kovalchuk is only 27-years old. He'll argue that in the final years of his contract, he'll still be a major contributor, so he wants as much in years seven through 10 as years one through six. 10 years at the same dollar figure across the board."

So just to recap: The most annoying poster on this site and probably the dumbest states that he knows Kovy will sign today. Also, arguably the least credible "journalist" in the NHL, who is also a running joke on this site, reports that a Kovy deal with the Devils is done at 7/60. This is the same "journalist" who makes up sh!t all the time and has never broken any Devils news as far as we know.

As you all were...

(N)Єverson has never made up something this big that i can remember. he floats a lot of idiotic rumors out there, but he's not reporting this as a rumor. i'm not saying that means that this will definitely happen or that the dollar amounts are correct - it certainly doesn't - but (N)Єverson would really lose all credibility were he wrong here.
